So my friends and I like to play DND at this store because it is quiet. We are patient and understanding of the renovations happening which means no tile in spots and cards strewn all over tables in an unorganized mess. My boyfriend likes to look through them for purchases still and sometimes finds cool stuff. We have never had an issue before this. He found an Eevee card he thought I would like at one of the chaotic tables and when he brought it up to the front for purchase, the worker was extremely rude. He asked where my boyfriend found the card, BF said it was at the table towards the back and the employee said “so you went through the stuff we are organizing??” There’s no signage or verbal remark at any point asking us not to touch the cards or that the cards were not for sale. My BF said he didn’t know and apologized. He was willing to put it back if there was an issue. The employee said “I’m just going to have to check the cameras now to make sure you have stolen anything.” I was INFURIATED. My Bf is the most integral person you’d ever meet. Out of all the times we’ve been there, every time we go in, this employee is sleeping at the register. We never say anything but if you’re that concerned about theft from your regulars then maybe you should leave nap time to the toddlers. We won’t be...
Read moreI have been contemplating whether to post this review for a month, but I feel that this is a necessary learning opportunity. I’ve been coming to this shop periodically and brought my service dog with me on January 10th, who was clearly marked as a service dog as he wore his vest. He is fully trained and was perfectly well behaved. The man working the shop, I’m assuming the owner, stated, “Um, can you take your dog out of here.” I thought he was joking at first, but when it became obvious that he was serious, I stated that he was a service dog. The shop worker stared at me blankly and made no attempt to retract his request. I won’t disclose my disability but confrontation can be deeply uncomfortable and triggering. I knew that I have a legal right to be accomadated but I was so uncomfortable that I just left. I have the ability to report this business to the DOJ but I’m not interested in ruining anyone’s livelihood. It’s my intention to educate this business that it is illegal under the ADA to deny a valid service dog and their owner entry. I had been a customer here multiple times, but I’m completely turned off from returning. No business should treat disabled...
Read moreIt's great for lounging and having fun with friends playing card games but that's really it. Small inventory, the staff isn't super helpful, and they'll make you wait for their own entertainment. I've been in three times now for purchasing and will not be returning. This last visit was by far the worst. If you want to be a lounge after a certain point and not make sales then please make that known to your customers or just turn into a lounge/gaming hub only. It is not fair for customers to have to sit there waiting and it all be treated like a joke. The one employee, if he even was one, made eye contact with me multiple times before laughing like it was a joke if I needed help, and then didn't even know where the item I was requesting was. When another employee/actual one came over, the experience wasn't much better. I couldn't check out and leave fast enough. If you are wanting to actually purchase cards, gaming equipment, models, etc, I highly recommend just taking the drive to Sarasota's options. If you want to play cards/games with your buddies, than this is the...
