If I could rate this ZERO stars, I would. From the moment we walked in the door, we were met with the stench of sewer and the grinch of an older lady who had the personality of a board and was very unwelcoming. We were led to our table past multiple empty, dirty tables with dishes, dirty floors, and no waitress in sight. There were a few people sitting at tables, but they were not busy by any means. After a very long wait, our waitress finally appeared, and stopped at another table with a couple who were sitting there before we came in, she took their order and then stopped at another table behind us that were already eating then proceeded to us and took our drink and dinner order then stopped at another table before heading back to her hiding spot. We sat there waiting and waiting and waiting... The only employee that was visible was the older lady who was helping at the front upon entry who disappeared along with the waitress out front to have a smoke, with the doors of the restaurant wide open which allowed the smoke to fill inside the restaurant. Meanwhile, we sat in a dirty dining room with people waiting on food and no one in sight for long periods of time. When the waitress finally appeared with our drinks and proceeded yet again to the kitchen (with nothing in her hands, no dirty dishes, nothing) the little old man was pissed, stood up said he had been waiting for over 30 mins, would pay for his tea but he was leaving.... At this point, we are down to only 3 tables of just couples, including our table. Another 30 minutes later and much back and forth on rather we should just leave, our waitress finally appeared again, with a side salad for our table (1 hour after waiting). After more waiting, we finally got our food after over an hour in total waiting. I asked for sauce for the onion rings when I ordered, which was not brought out with the food, so I requested the sauce when she dropped off our food at the table... Another 10 minutes goes by, and she brings it out on a tray with a few drinks and stops at every table on her way before bringing the sauce to our table... When she brought the sauce, we showed her the high-priced sandwich that had 1 little sliver of meat on it. She said she'd get the manager. After 10 minutes, no manager came out, but the waitress came and said the manager is just going to take it off your bill. Wow..... There was no attempt to make it right. Just said screw us and hid in the kitchen. My mother left her cold, open, pitiful sandwich and didn't eat it. During eating, not once did our waitress visit the table for a simple table touch. After i finished eating, she appeared and actually gave us drink refills. It was just a disaster from the beginning. We couldn't get out of there quickly enough. Terrible service, terrible atmosphere, and terrible staff training! There's obviously no oversight at this restaurant. I will never visit this place, absolutely...
Read moreA friend from out of town was here and so we went to breakfast with two other people We went to Perkins It was one of the very few restaurants that were open the day after Hurricane Helene. We walked in and were . Then waited approximately 15 minutes for someone to come take our drink order. We then maybe 10 minutes later ordered our food for four people Nothing special Everything off the menu no special request. After that we watched at least seven tables be sat have the order taken and get their food while we still have not received anything We waited over an hour from the time we ordered to the time we went and asked the manager what's going on. Within a few minutes we were Served our food which was cold I had a skillet so the very bottom of it was actually warm but the top with the cheese and everything was not Everything was cold except for the Apple roll up egg roll kind of type things which were delicious and were brought out before our food which seems strange but they were really good and really hot. In their defense I got to say the manager did take half off the bill which we weren't we weren't trying to get We just were upset that we had to wait so long and and watch everybody else eat that came in after us. She explained how sorry she was and that there must have been some sort of mix up or something she Was shocked that this had happened. But I have to say she also made sure that our food got to our table within minutes one of one of our people said something to her. Then again I wonder what would happened if we would have just sat and waited and not said anything. I hope that by us saying something there was some sort of something corrected in the way that they handle our order. All in all I love Perkins they always have great food and this was the first time that we have ever had a problem So I would love to give them five stars but it was a terrible terrible experience that one day.Everyone else in the restaurant was shocked to hear because yes as I said they got their food right away but they all had good things to say and I would have two had the food actually come out hot and timely. It's just we were so hungry because we had driven all over town went to Punta Gorda looking for something to be open and only found Smokies which was way overcrowded way too small I hear they're great food but I can't do littl😘e tiny restaurants so we went from there all the way down to Perkins who were thankfully open. The manager did a great job and handled everything appropriately. Any other day probably would have been...
