This place should be and could be a valuable addendum to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex -- but it is NOT.
The interactive exhibits and games were of two types 1) those that didn't work and 2) those with no guidance or instructions on why you were there or what you were supposed to do. Too much of the facility was closed off.
The only staff member on duty was the person at the front desk who checked you through the turnstyle -- no guidance or suggestions, no handouts (a floor plan would be nice).
If you are an old coger, like me, wandering along looking at the exhibits and reading the displays would be a good couple hours. With a kid in your group, it will be a race to see which comes first -- boredom or frustration.
I do not know the politics of this situation but from the viewpoint of a visiting citizen, new management and a good dose of maintenance is needed. I'm sorry to say that. This facility certainly does not honor those it claims to honor.
Bottom line -- don't waste your time...

Perhaps the flu bug got to some staff members and they were understaffed today and could not give the entire exhibit an opening for those who gave a lot to try to have a full experience. It still was a genuine honor to see those whom we grew up watching for the last 50 years. It...
Read moreThe exhibit hall honors all things astronaut. From Alan Sheapard to the current astronaut, you will feel inspired by what motivated them to want to go to space.
There are two intro videos before entering the exhibit hall. So be prepared for a 10 min wait before you enter the hall. Once I side, there are a lot of exhibits that show the history of the years and how "space" was perceived. Besides the 2 capsules that went into space, the ray gun and helmet exhibits were...
