The instructors are very patient and strict with the kids. I will give them that. But when it comes down to sparring, my child was not interested. we tried for the last months of our contract to inspire out son to continue even though he cried because he was kicked where he wasn't padded. its the sport; It isn't for everyone. But they need more instructors for the size of the classes they have. Be prepared, because while you think your child is earning their stripes, they are actually giving them out in just enough time to "test"/ belt up. This is an additional $60-$110. Not to mention the sparring gear required is $250. Trust that they want your child to get the next belt because its an additional amount every month like clockwork. When you sign, they tell you lots of information. One is that after a year that you will be automatically be signed up for month to month at $180. I mistook this for only if you wanted to continue. Well lets be clear, when the Master tell you just let him know if he plans on continuing the class, and you verbally tell him that he will not be continuing after the initial contract, that isn't what he meant. You have to send something in writing. To someone else. They want their money. At first I thought it was pretty cool what they did, but it became clear that yeah they have fun with the kids, but it is about your MONEY!!! Once finding out that you can't just verbally tell them and even your son saying he does not like it because he keeps getting hurt and refuses to spar they don't care. They want that payment. I had sent an email after the confusion about the contract stating a written notice was needed. Was told that when I sent to email they would still have time to prevent us from being charged again since there was confusion....Well fast forward to this month, ...boom charged again. Make another call to the office manager and she says she never received an email. but she is out of the office again...like my last phone call....and that I need to call back later....6. She told me that she always sends out a reply when she receives an email. but somehow mine got skipped and sent to a different folder? Great, I know you aren't concerned....because it isn't your money that is being withdrawn for ZERO services rendered. PAYCHECK. I am beyond disappointed by this company, beyond disgusted by the office staff that handles billing. They did the same thing to my neighbor that went as well. No return, but we can do a credit they told them. oh yeah thats right because we want to actually come back to the place our kids felt uncomfortable with during the sparring sessions in the first place. Don't waste your money on this place. Its a headache and you'd have better luck finding another place that held the kids accountable for their belts. If a child isn't ready for a belt or isn't ready for sparring and you can tell don't move them up just because you want the money. That wasn't my initial idea as to how taekwondo worked. I thought it was about teaching...
Read moreHello, this company offered a 2 day trial upon signing up. Master Kung explained if we did not show up for the 2 day trial ir classes that my card would not be charge and the application would be destroyed si no worries. Well, we never attended the 2 day trial or any classes and my card was still charged for 2 months. I reached out to Jessica, Dana, and Kaye regarding this matter; nothing resolved. Jessica said I can take it court and continued to charge my account and steal my money for services we never received. Per Master Kung and Dana their practice is to not charge if the kid does not show up. I requested to speak with Master Kung several times, he was the person that signed me up and gave me the information about how the company operates if a child dont attend the trial or classes and haven't received a call. I dont recommend this company at all...not professional, will not stand on their word and will steal your money by any means. It's just bad business, dont know how they operate doing this kind of stuff, unbelievable. Dont think they deserve any stars just bad business. Go get another side job and stop stealing money from people...
Read moreWe signed up our daughter for after school care in Kindergarten. The first day I picked her up, I thought oh geez what did I do - really not knowing what to expect. She had the BEST year and LOVED all of the aftercare team and instructors. It was the best place she could have ended up! We then did the tiny champions with our son. He did two classes and then said he wanted to quit -- as others have mentioned, to avoid a fee in cancellation you have to do some "private" sessions (not a new fee for these).... our son met ONCE with Master Kang and it was SO GREAT.... although I (similar to others who posted) was like this is an annoying part of the contract. He made him feel comfortable and excited - since then he LOVES it! It's so valuable that they do this.
Finally - Instructor Carlos is truly a legend! He is a great teacher of taekwondo BUT more importantly he has a magical skill of connecting with every single child in the way they need to be communicated with (and knowing everyone's name instantly.) Although we are moving schools and have to take a break from WCC - we are so very grateful and thankful for...
