The time of our visit was after breakfast and before the lunch rush. Upon arrival, I used the facilities to wash my hands. Upon returning to our table, I saw my daughter was being served a carafe of coffee. I, however, wasn't asked whether I wanted the same or something different. My daughter had also requested water, but we waited an additional 12 minutes after being seated and finally had to flag down a busser to get a drink. We were finally able to place our order: I had a favorite meal from other First Watch locations Eggs Benedict Florentine which I ordered. My daughter had the BLT with egg sandwich. Our food came in a timely manner, but was quite incongruous in its presentation. My daughter thought her sandwich was quite good, except for the fact that the bread wasn't toasted and therefore became soggy. My food just wasn't even appealing. The egg whites were very undercooked, to the point they were not firm but slimy and runny. While I asked for the Spinach to be sautéed and the tomatoes grilled to keep the eggs warm, the ice cold avocado and cold bread defeated that strategy. The side of potatoes I ordered also arrived cold and, to top it off, undercooked. After flagging down our inattentive server (who never checked back with us) I indicated I would like a salad with two sides of dressing instead of the breakfast. I pointed out the errors so he could alert the chef. Shortly thereafter, another server (No sign of the manager)brought not one, but two salads to my table. I told her I only ordered one, but with two dressings. She assured me that was it was no problem and that I was welcome to take the extra home. Thinking that was awfully nice of her, I accepted. The Pecan salad was very good, even though once again our server neglected to check on me. Instead, after some time, he showed up with a plastic container of salad dressing to go, added it to the bag with the extra salad, and left the check. Hmmm, now why would I be charged for a breakfast I did not eat and an extra salad I didn't order? When I asked to finally speak to a manager, he seemed unconcerned about the less than stellar dining experience but agreed to adjust the check. Good enough, but when he began to "educate" me on how a proper poached eggs is cooked and served, I'd had enough. A simple "I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your meal, how can I make it up to you?" is what was required. Not, "Well one egg was perfectly cooked and the other just slightly under." Never talk down to a customer in such a way as if they don't know how the food they order should be served. It's rude and condescending. All around this was a dismal experience and I'm glad this First Watch isn't my local or I'd never eat...
Read moreI don't even know where to start. I don't want to make this a novel. So I will make this as short as possible. I had never been to this restaurant before, but my son and his girlfriend wanted to take me because they said how good it was. So when I first walked in the atmosphere was very nice. The restaurant was very clean. The tables were clean. My server was Michaela. Maybe if she would have smiled, at least once the whole time she was there, it might have made a big difference, just a little smile goes a long way. She came to our table, took our order. They brought me hot chocolate and my son hot chocolate. We couldn't even taste the chocolate. It tasted like straight water. It was so disgusting. We had to ask for chocolate syrup just to make it taste like hot chocolate. They ordered their food. I ordered my food when the food came out. It was wrong. My son asked for extra powdered sugar extra butter. He didn't get either. My son's girlfriend asked for grits with her chickenchanga but instead they brought her seasoned potatoes. Then it was a whole conversation about a ham and cheese omelet. I cannot eat bacon or sausage. So I wanted just the ham and cheese and sour cream on my Omelette. They brought it to me. When I opened up the omelet, it didn't look like ham, but me not being there before I said, maybe their ham looks different. When the server came back to our table, I asked her what it was, she talked to me like I was stupid. She said, um, it's bacon.I said I didn't ask for bacon.I asked for ham and cheese only. How can you mess that up Is beyond me. And the omelet wasn't even good at all. My son went up and talk to the manager. The manager, there is super nice. He gave us a twenty dollar gift card, which was very nice considering the service that we received. So we were waiting at the table. Mind you The server never once apologized for the order coming out wrong. We sat there for 10 minutes waiting on her to bring us boxes because, of course, our plates were full and we were done. I had to go up to the cashier. And the manager again, just asked for boxes, the only time the server acknowledged.Anything is when she saw my son or me up front, talking to the manager. I will never go back. And the server does need a little bit of retraining on her smiling. If she's in a bad mood, maybe she shouldn't work that day. If that is just her personality, I don't think serving is for her. Enough said the food wasn't great. The hot chocolate was watery. The server was just not a good server. The manager, though, did take care of the...

Special thanks to Kate for her exceptional service at First Watch! I recently had the pleasure of dining at this popular breakfast and brunch spot, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. As a solo diner, I sometimes worry about receiving less attention or subpar service, but Kate went above and beyond to ensure that my experience was delightful from start to finish.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the Smoked Salmon Benedict. As a lover of both eggs Benedict and smoked salmon, I had high expectations for this dish, and I'm happy to say that it exceeded them in every way. The presentation alone was stunning, with perfectly poached eggs delicately resting on a bed of smoked salmon and toasted English muffins. The hollandaise sauce was rich and velvety, flawlessly complementing the smoky flavors of the salmon.
The attention to detail in the Smoked Salmon Benedict was truly impressive. The eggs were cooked to perfection, with the yolks oozing out beautifully when I cut into them. The smoked salmon was of exceptional quality, with a delicate smokiness that added a wonderful depth of flavor to the dish. The English muffins were toasted just right, providing a satisfying crunch without being overly dry.
What really stood out to me was the impeccable balance of flavors. Each bite brought together the creaminess of the hollandaise, the richness of the eggs, and the savory notes of the smoked salmon. It was a harmonious blend that left my taste buds dancing with joy. The dish was also accompanied by a side of perfectly seasoned breakfast potatoes, which added a delightful crispy element to the meal.
In addition to the amazing food, the atmosphere at First Watch was warm and inviting. The restaurant had a cozy and rustic charm, with a friendly staff that made me feel right at home.
Overall, my experience at First Watch, and specifically with their Smoked Salmon Benedict, was nothing short of exceptional. From the outstanding service provided by Kate to the delectable flavors and impeccable presentation of the dish, everything surpassed my expectations. If you're a fan of eggs Benedict or smoked salmon, I highly recommend giving this dish a try. You won't be...
