No service after the sale on broken unit. I purchased an RC car from Ed’s in Nov for my sons Christmas present. He received the gift on the Sunday Dec. 26. After driving it four times the drive broke for the right front wheel. Taking it in to Eds Hobby shop the employees told me I would need to buy the replacement parts and they would put it on for me. When I explained it had been used only three or four times and asked about a warranty, they said the manufacture covers the parts and I would have to take it up with them. The only way they would help is if I bought the parts. A $100 product used three or four times, purchased under 30 days. NO SUPPORT. In addition, someone in the store (I’m not sure if it was an employee or customer) called me an “A@#hole” as I was leaving. I’m not sure because my back was turned as I was exiting. I’m sure the employees laughed it off as they obviously couldn’t care less about business or being professional. I wasn't sure I was going to find a hobby store still in business based on the Google Street View picture, but I decided to take a chance and ride up there to take a look at what they had. Traxxas had sent me a list of local hobby shops and Beach RC is pretty much just an online warehouse operation now since they shut their large store and racetrack down a couple months back. I needed a Magnum 272r transmission and Ed's website said they had it in stock. So, up I went, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a large and well stocked hobby store. The gents working that day were all super nice and I had the part I needed in two minutes. But there was no way I was leaving that place that fast! So, I took a gander around to see what they had. Read moreVisited the store 12/17/24 at 11:30. After calling and being told to call back later because he was busy I decided to take a ride to the store. I was interested in one of their used vehicles in the back corner. I asked if it could be tested before buying, they said no. I asked if they have a warranty, they said no as is. I asked if they’d lower the price since I can’t test, they said no. Guy behind the counter had a sassy attitude while he was reading the stores return policy to me like I was stupid. Very poor customer service with no sales skills. I spend a lot of money on RC cars, trucks, boats, planes and drones, this is not how you treat a serious customer. I was hopeful this store would leave its Myrtle beach attitude in Myrtle beach when they moved to the friendly city of Conway but they obviously didn’t.
