Maurice Gusman Concert Hall — Attraction in Coral Gables

Came here for the every five year Chopin piano competition. The winner is guaranteed to go to Warsaw to compete in October. - we couldn't get tickets in Warsaw, so Miami is the next best thing.

The hall is decent but parking is problematic. There are at least three signs about parking.

The organizer sent us an email, directing us to park at a garage but the attendant, an elderly gentleman looking puzzled, then said, "we're across the lake from the Hall." Then gives us the direction to the purple parking lot near the Gusman Concert Hall.

As soon as I get off, I see a valet parking sign and a few men huddling around a sign, with their phones in hand. Inside, there is another sign, asking the patrons "Did you remember to pay for parking?"

I think that's it for me. Hopefully the next one, in five years, will be hosted elsewhere or they clean...

I love this concert hall for so many reasons! The musical programs and events presented here are always top notch and the sound quality/acoustics is fantastic. And then there is the power of the UM frost school of music faculty and students that by sheer dedication and countless hours of training and practice , deliver magnificent renditions of new and classical works to a public grateful to be recipient of these masterpieces in a live music format. I came here to see Chucho Valdez, and the concert was incredible! The space has a wonderful sound, and UM staffs the hall with competent, professional individuals. I highly recommend attending any event that is happening here. You won’t be disappointed by the quality of the performance or by the experience...
