St. Augustine Church & Catholic Student Center at the University of Miami — Attraction in Coral Gables

This parish is so traditional! There are no TV monitors. It is a cross-shaped church, not New Order circular. The Tabernacle is directly centered, not shifted to the side or in another room.

The clergy and office staff are very helpful and make me feel welcome.

The Masses are prompt and timely. Even the noon weekday Mass begins immediately after Angelus and ended at 12:30, perfect for lunchtime worship!

There are a lot of programs for children, high schoolers, college students, and adults including catechism, retreats, and even talent showcases.

Simplicity and Spirit is how I would describe it; sits across from the University of Miami with open doors to UM students, and all! I am saddened by Sarah Tester's review based on her unfortunate experience. I'm sorry that happened to you, Sarah, but remember that a church is not made up of a single individual, but of a community. For every one of those judgmental individuals, there are 99 that are welcoming. I hope you try again. Don't make a blanket judgment based on one person. Never miss a Sunday mass when I’m in town. Confessional is a bit more challenging when it isn’t offered on Tuesdays, but I schedule ahead of time. The parking can be challenging, but there are plenty of options around. This church feels like home to me and brings me peace. I’ve met incredible people in the community and seminaries who have become great friends. Highly recommend.
