Fruit King Produce, Inc. — Attraction in Corpus Christi

Love their prices, but for the customer service experience I receive, I'd rather give my money elsewhere. Never have I ever had so much hassle using a debit card. I shop there once a week and buy at least 10 dozen eggs, ALWAYS have to show my ID if it's a certain 'butch' looking lady working. (not trying to be disrespectful, just honest) I've used a plasma card there and have been chewed out by her because there's no way to verify that it's actually MY card, that was the one and only time I used it, how embarrassing! Today, I tried to use my husband debit card, but since he wasn't with me she wouldn't let me use it.. So, I walked out to my car and got MY debit card, we use two different accounts from different banks, my name isn't on his card and his isn't on mine, but I have NEVER had no much problem using a damn debit card in my LIFE! Completely turned off, I will never shop this store again. Sorry, you just lost a long time, repeat customer. Such a hassle for a bill that's less than $40 a week. Heb won't give me a hard time at all and it's actually next door to my house, no commute across town for such poor customer...

I called and asked if they had green tomatoes the lady that answered the phone said yes.. So I go over all the way from the Southside and go in and I see what appears to be green tomatoes but the sign above says tomatillos I then ask the young man working there are these green tomatoes he starts looking around and then says "I don't know and rolled his eyes..I say " you work here and you don't know " he then shrugged his shoulders dismissing me ...I turned around and walked out.. This is one of the reasons small neighborhood stores don't flurish because of employees like him.. I then called HEB and was told they have them so I went there and spent my money...I will never go back to this store with their...

I love their bargains. I always save money when i go to the fruit King. But, this particular store had the most unfriendliest cashier. There were 2. But the one with very short hair, baseball cap and glasses was just plain unfriendly. She sounded and looked angry when she greeted us on the way in. At the end of my purchase i said thank you and she said nothing. I should've never stopped there. But, it was on the way home. Next time I'll take the extra 15 minutes and go to the one on Morgan or the other one. I've always had good experiences at those other...
