Cranbury Museum — Attraction in Cranbury Township

On a beautiful early Spring day my wife and I went to tour The Cranbury Museum in Cranbury NJ. The house, in various stages, dates from 1834, and was acquired by The Cranbury Historical Society in 1972, and has been restored to its original condition and decor. The floors have reproduced wide-pine floorboards and the paint colors were formulated using the same ingredients that were used more than one century ago. Elaine was our Docent and she was extremely knowledgeable and interspersed appropriate anecdotes from her childhood in Canada where she spent quite some time with her Grandparents and had first-hand experience with outdoor plumbing and living in houses without central heat.
