Horribly disappointed. Never returning. Dark & dingy. Lights were kept off the whole time we sat inside to have the meal. Served hot soup in Styrofoam containers. Gave clear plastic tiny container for soy sauce. Served sushi in thin paper plates. Gave plastic spoons.Thankfully chopsticks weren't plastic! And to top that off, server acted and spoke like she just woke up and didn't want to be there. As for the food: All rolls seemed to be on a diet, smallest I've ever seen! Spicy salmon roll (stale salmon, dried out rice, no flavor), avocado cucumber roll (decent), veg tempura roll (stale oil taste), shrimp tempura roll (fried in stale oil), miso soup (ok), clear soup(good).
Why would a restaurant use styrofoam and plastic products for dine-in customers? Not only it is an automatic turn off but it is also extremely irresponsible for the environment. I truly feel sorry for those who have given more than 1 star. They need to explore other sushi places desperately to know what a GOOD sushi should taste like. I believe that because of its quaint location, If the right management takes over, there is potential. But till then, DEFINITELY DO...
Read moreThis is the second not great experience I've had here. The first time, I got the pork katsu. The pork was very dry and didn't have much flavor. I decided to give them a second chance and see if maybe it would be different this time. I called 3 times with no answer, despite them supposedly being open. I went there in person, I figured maybe they were on a lunch break or something. The door was locked when I got there, so I called, and they answered. Why lock the door if you're open? I waited 25 minutes for my food (I got the lunch teriyaki shrimp). It was supposed to come with soup and salad, and I didn't get either of those. The container for my food was so small. There were 5 shrimp (with the tail still on) and a couple pieces of broccoli, the container was literally the side of my hand. The sauce also leaked all over the place. There was a puddle of it in my bag, and I hadn't tipped the bag over at all. I had to get sodas because of the $15 card minimum, and they literally had 4 drink options, 2 of them being cans of coke. The sodas were also warm. Overall not a good experience, and I won't be...
Read moreWe ordered three sushi rolls and a crab salad. Cost was $42,00. Fish in the rolls was quite fresh, but the rolls were too mushy because of overripe avocado and soggy rice. The sauces on the rolls were rather ordinary, not particularly tasty and did not improve the taste of the fish.
There was no service at all. The restaurant is closed and nailed up tight with heavy plastic. You pass your payment and receive your order through this heavy plastic curtain. These covid precautions seem over the top at this stage of the pandemic. Most other Asian restaurants no longer take these kinds of precautions, which really seem obsessive. Perhaps the operators are afraid or unwilling to run a restaurant business anymore. Covid has truly changed everything
There is no atmosphere to speak of, as discussed above.
I'm still looking for a local sushi place to replace Sushi King,...
