4 just because it is nice to walk along the river (other than that this is pretty bare bones stuff - but that is OK). No facilities and a pretty small open area. The Trail is maintained ok, they clear trees but it is a dirt path. There is only a few points where you can get down to the actual river, sometimes there is a steep drop - so be careful with the kids. On the other side of the river is all backyards which was kind of nice on a holiday weekend (hearing music, smelling the outdoor fires). The trail ends at the train (you can go on a little from there but I doubt it is legal). For a local jaunt tucked away on a dead end street it can't be beat (plenty of street parking). There are a couple of benches and that is about the extent of the amenities... so, this is really not one to drive to from afar, but if you are local? Not a bad little spot at all (and the town itself is great if you are unfamiliar). There is something soothing about listening to the river and the train passing through. I spotted a Blue Heron and a White Heron (could have been an Egret, not sure, too far away) so there is some wildlife to check out.

It is a small peaceful nature area (probably a flood zone), in a busy congested north Jersey town. Aside from the small bridge that crosses the local river, and the large shading trees, there is nothing else to see and nothing to do but walk through it. There is a paved trail making it easy to walk through with a stroller, but no parking lot, open space (to speak of), or play ground. It is basically an narrow strip of trees that connects two neighborhoods in...
