Tomasello Winery Tasting Room - Cranford — Attraction in Cranford

Went here after purchasing the wine tasting Groupon. We were able to choose five wines each. Our hostess did a nice job in recommending things she thought we might like. This could very well just be me, but I thought many of the wines (especially the whites) had an odd, musky aroma? I could not finish my Chardonnay for this reason. Our hostess recommended a white wine to us and said if we didn’t like it, she’d give us another wine to try. We thought it was just okay, but she gave both us two extra wines to try! I felt some of the wines (especially the ice wine) would have been best served chilled. We found it odd that it was not.

The Groupon included a bottle of wine to take home, a tote bag, and our wine glasses to take home. When our hostess took our glasses from us to pack up, we assumed she was also cleaning them. When we opened our bag the next day, we found that they were still dirty and sticky from our tasting the night before.

We also ordered a cheese board because their oven was broken.

Had a surprise 60th b’day party for my husband on Friday night! This venue was perfect in every way! We couldn’t have asked for more. The food (flatbread pizzas, cheeses, fruit and charcuterie) was excellent and always being replenished. The wine was plentiful and there were SO many choices. And most of all the manager (Rebecca) and staff (Brian, Emily and Zack ) went out of their way to make it very special for us and our guests. The next day I got several phone calls and texts saying how perfect everything was. Most of them had never been to Tomasello in Cranford before but said they would b coming back! One of them even wants to have their own party there. Thank you for everything Rebecca and staff for making it a very memorable and fun night! We will be back soon! Arrived at winery at 4:30pm on a Sunday evening. Two tables had patrons. None of the other tables inside or out had anyone seated. We were told because we didn’t have a reservation we could not be seated. Fine. Bought a bottle then went into town for dinner. Came back at 5:55 to replenish the bottle we had just drank during dinner to return to a STILL EMPTY WINERY. This was sheer laziness on behalf of the staff. Don’t wanna clean a few extra glasses? Just say that. Don’t give us some BS story that you’re fully booked when no one went into your store. Unbelievably terrible customer service. Been a long time patron of Tomasello and was incredibly disappointed in this evenings events. This was pathetic.
