Terrible experience. Im backpacking. Passed right by the place & The website says you can camp here. They offer 14 day permits for camping. I was told by an employee i didnt need a permit as i was locked in the park. So i camped for a couple days.. slept under the stars. When it started raining, i put up my tent. Immediately,(after 1 night of having my tent put up, i was woke up by the police, told i was trespassing, asked if i was sex offender, & told to leave. Which i did. Promptly.

Read moreThis park was pretty lame for kids. The playground equipment was ancient and is way overdue on needing updating. The playground consisted of a couple swings, a slide that was totally unsafe to be on, a climbing thing, and a spring horse that was buried in the sand/dirt. We are from out of state, the kids needed a break from traveling but this was not the place to stop. Crossville In general seems to lack parks and playgrounds. Big disappointment! Now to the stuff I love about it... there are several pavilions for picnics; a great walking trail through the woods next to the river. Also, along the trail are trees labeled and identified. It’s actually a proper arboretum. Take the time, and you can learn a lot.
When in town, we often go here for an impromptu picnic. I’m glad Crossville sees fit to provide this lovely...
