I recently got into knitted clothing as well as knitted stuff animals. I have friends that have educated me on quality of fabrics and styles and things like that. Now I don't knit, but I do like people who can knit things for me. So I have been to a few places in my hometown. I told someone in one of those stores where I was going for work, and some how they mentioned a yarn store I must check out while I was there. I didn't plan on it, but since it is a small town, and it was by a restaurant that I eating at, I figured why not! I have never been in a store that was as clean, organized, and as inviting as this store. First of all the town is real nice, authentic southern American experience...but I didn't think I would enjoy a yarn store as much. Unfortunately the things I wanted to buy, weren't for sale...however I could buy the kits and bring back to my knitting friends and just have them knit those items for me...😁. They said they have online availability, which is great because I live out of state and apparently some of the quality of yarn they have is hard to find. Like previously stated, I didn't think a yarn store could be so exciting, but when you have such a welcoming environment, anything can become exciting...this was a pleasant experience in such a warm town. Will be back next time I am here...
Read moreA delightful surprise minutes off I40 in East TN. This Local Yarn Shop has what all us fiber fans are out to find, a unique stash of goodies. With their hefty assortment of well priced yarns and their hard copy Indy Designers exclusive to this store the Yarn Patch stands apart from crowd. What impressed me most was the natural upcyclying that was integrated throughout the store. From the custom project kits made by combining lone last skeins together to create something new, to bags they sell, each with a story of what the fabric did in its "past life." These small gestures and more are the components that bring character to the heart of a business. The honesty and kindness of the staff at the Yarn Patch was very clear.
I absolutely recommend this yarn store to anyone passing through or local to the area. They also have their products up online. No doubt we'll definitely be back...
Read moreI visited The Yarn Patch in August of 2023. The staff was friendly, present and available without high pressure. I bought some of the locally dyed yarn which was high quality, beautiful colors and competitively priced. Since then my middle child, who lives in Crossville has purchased gifts for me there and I have placed some online orders as well. Staff prepares orders for shipping quickly. My last order arrived in 4 days- which included the weekend!! Orders are packaged nicely and always include a personal note. They also respond quickly to email questions. These little things make a big difference! I feel like they are my local yarn shop even though they are nearly 700 miles away. (I do have shops near my home, but they aren’t...
