Honestly hate to say this but this was one of the worst meals and dining experiences I've had. When I went here shortly after they opened the Country Kitchen, it was actually fairly decent. However when my friends and I went there a few days ago, we sat at a table and the servers ignored us for nearly 30 mins, walked right by us and looked at us several times. I had to get up and ask for service, and even then still had to wait another 5 mins for them to even ask what we wanted to drink. When we finally did get our food, it was nearly inedible. Everything was lukewarm and tasted like it had been cooked hours before and reheated in a microwave before serving. My grits were cold, everything else was barely warm. Nothing had ANY seasoning or flavor, the gravy tasted like doughy water, honestly everything sucked. None of us finished our plates. The best thing we ate was the bacon and even that wasn't great. I still paid for the food and tipped the waitress cause that's who I am as a person, I rarely leave negative reviews for any place and I almost feel bad for doing it but it absolutely sucked and was nothing like it was when I first went. Service was awful and food was terrible, we all came hungry too and it really didn't set the mood for the day. Please try to do better cause that was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFriends of mine have been raving about The Country Kitchen on Main for a few months now. Today I joined them in their weekly pilgrimage for chicken livers. (Sounds disgusting to me, but they love them!) I was told they have a lot more on the menu. So I went for lunch. The place is cozy and nice looking inside! It looks a-lot smaller outside then inside.
The employees were very friendly! We were greeted and seated. Not all our group was there yet. While we waited we were asked and served drinks. Once everyone else came we all ordered. You can guess what they got! I decided to try the prime rib (rare) with fried okra and onion rings.
Iām not sure the timing but it was out quickly. Not fast food quick. First thing I noticed was my ārareā prime rib was āwellā. I didnāt say anything⦠Iāve learned most places actually donāt know the difference between rare and well. The okra and onion rings were good. Prime rib was edible, thankfully due to the small amount of au jus and horseradish sauce. It did come with a biscuit or cornbread. I got the biscuit. Moms are better.
The others in the group enjoyed their meals.
Iāll likely come back and try something else. Hopefully it will be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here tonight for the first time... My husband had meatloaf, green beans, fried okra w/biscuit he said all was really good. Green beans have bacon and onions in them which he loved. I had mashed potatoes (real not instant so big plus for me), pinto beans ( the bacon in them give them a really good homestyle flavor) mac n cheese (was not very good I only took a bite out of it not sure what flavor/brand of cheese they use but was not a fan. The cornbread is extremely sweet and made it hard to eat and I usually like a sweet cornbread but I couldn't even eat this one. The food was out to the table amazingly fast and all the staff are really friendly. We will definitely go back to try some different foods and post as we do. It is a little pricey for the portions but close to some other places that are here. All in all you should give them a try the fact that they don't close at 2 or 3pm is a definite win as we don't have many choices around this town other than fast food when its time to get off work and eat in...
