Incredibly disappointing... being a local reseller, I always try to support my local shops in the area, but each time I try to give this store a chance, they find another way to make me feel unwelcome.
Let me start by saying I’m a huge proponent of wearing a mask and social distancing. I literally wear my mask everywhere I go. So I’m in the store today, and placed a few pieces at the counter to purchase. I asked the gentleman who was less than interested in working behind the counter about a piece for sale out front...I mentioned it was an item from “pony’s picks” (the name of the seller on the price tag).. he said I have no idea what you’re talking about. I don’t know who that is. I said ok, never mind and continued with the items in had.
Then another employee standing by the register decided to be snarky and said I needed to pull my mask up further. (It was and always is completely covering my nostrils) she said she could see my nose and that wasn’t allowed. She was clearly just trying to be difficult because of the exchange that had just happened with the person working the counter who didn’t know who the fellow reseller was....
Obviously I decided to pass on purchasing anything from them or pony’s picks. During a time of global pandemic and sellers struggling to make ends meet, service could be ..ummmm ... somewhat cordial... or even slightly inviting. This store is none of those.
Ugh... don’t waste your time here. Try carriage house across the street or Ridgefield. You’ll be...
Read moreThey had a stack of Magic The Gathering Cards in a display case, but wouldn't even let us look at them to see what cards were in the stack. I'm sorry, what?! Can you believe that? How are we suposed to know what you have for sale if we can't even look at it to see what it is!
From what I could tell, it wasn't even anything of great value. Mostly dollar bin jank, but I love that sort of thing and probably would've walked away with a fat stack of cards had I been given the opportunity.
Lol. I am absolutely speechless. Never in my 30+ years of collecting have I experienced something like this trying to buy cards. If you're looking for Magic or Pokemon cards, stick to your local card shops. You know, the places that are actively trying to sell cards to you and not just display them in a case cause they look nice or whatever.
They had prices on them, so I assumed they were for sale, but I don't know how they expect people to go about purchasing them. I suppose I could have tried guessing which of the 90,000+ different Magic cards were in that stack and hoped for the best. Really not a big fan of those odds though, and you're probably better off trying your luck elsewhere too.
Whichever vendor is selling cards here, you may want to reconsider, there are far better options available. This place isn't even trying to...
Read moreMy friends and I went here during our free periods at school. When we got there, we did what was asked and put our bags at the door. We were only there for a few minutes when one of the workers came over to ask us why we weren’t at school. We explained and carried on browsing. Less than 3 minutes later we noticed she was still there, hovering over us. She wasn’t saying anything just watching. When it was time for us to leave, some of my friends went to purchase a few things. The workers were being snobby about it and overall annoyed. On top of that, opinothere were signs around the shop saying that certain colored tags were a certain percent off. My friend had something that was supposed to be 50% off. When she was checking out, she asked the worker and she didn’t believe us. She left the register to go look at the signs. When she got back, she said it was 30% off. Obviously it was still something, but the signs said something different to what she was telling us.
I don’t know if they’re always like this to costumers or if it was just because of our age. We weren’t being loud or disrespectful, we were just looking.
It was really upsetting because I used to love going here, and this ruined my opinions...
