They have been my favorite taco spot for a couple of years now, great food and have had them cater a couple events with many people asking where it was from. That being said, tonight I called to place an order and was asked to hold for a minute which was absolutely fine(Friday night, I completely understand you are busier than other times). However after 22 minutes of listening to customers come and go and various transactions take place, I was pretty frustrated. I could hear full conversations and people coming and going waiting patiently to order my favorite quesadilla. I finally hung up and called back only to not be able to get through. Unfortunately, this is the 3rd or 4th time this has happened and had to go with a different restaurant for the night. Great place, but the front desk/order station needs some MAJOR improvement as it's a reoccurring problem. I was even fine waiting 5 or 10 minutes but leaving people waiting to order like that for so long multiple times is bonkers...
Read morePLEASE DO NOT SPEND MONEY HERE! I just moved to the area and was looking for a new authentic Mexican place to eat. Ordered a taco and burrito dinner, I asked if chips and salsa came with. The barely speaking English host told me yes. Never got a total, but was using their online menu from their website to get a general price. I arrived to find out that my total was $46!!! They printed a sign in front of the hostess stand advising prices have gratly risen this year. Come to find out, the dinners we're an extra $4.50 each and chips and salsa we're $7.99!!!!!!!! for a small sized order. I paid the total thinking I would never be back and just leave it there. I arrived home 6 minutes later and open up the two smallest portions I have ever received and they were cold. Small businesses like this wonder why they continue to go out of business with antics like this. I guess chipotle it is next time. So beyond...
Read moreFirst, We ordered guacamole with our meager handful of chips and slash of salsa that I think is complimentary. The brought a tiny cup of guacamole for two people. So... Waited 45 minutes after ordering then the server brought us two plates. Each plate was short one taco, but instead of just getting us each one more taco, she took away both plates and said she’d check on the order... another 30 minutes passed and the server disappeared. Someone else came by and said, “I noticed that you’ve been waiting a long time... can I take your order?”. We immediately left and went to Cazuelita’s in Crystal Lake, which was excellent. Don’t count on good service or decent portions at Taqueria las Cumbres, or any...
