Place and ambience: A local suggested this place to us. I would say this place is quite special. It is a very small shop with outside seating. They have chairs, tables and umbrellas so you can enjoy whatever you get in the shade. This place looks especially beautiful at night because it is well decorated with lights. If you like aesthetically pleasing places, you most certainly want to visit here.
Food and service: We had the tuna sandwich, heaven salad, cappuccino, heaven burrito (dessert). Every single item was delicious. The tuna sandwich and the salad were refreshingly fresh. Heaven burrito is especially unique, I recommend if you like trying new concepts that you might not find anywhere else. It is a rolled icecream, for which you get to create your own flavor, enclosed in a candy floss wrap! They put edible glitter on top making it look even prettier, we loved the level of detail that went into preparing each dish. The styrofoam boxes don't do these desserts justice, a nice plate would have made these pictures look much better. If you don't prefer candy floss, I would suggest their dessert tacos or waffles.
Price and value: The prices seemed ok for each item, not too expensive. The main value comes from the artistic way of preparing the desserts and you getting the ability to create a unique flavor by choosing...
Read moreSpent over $50 on four mediocre desserts and generously tipped $3—my mistake, apparently. My wife and I were sharing one dessert, and they handed us a single spoon. When I politely asked for another, they looked me dead in the eye and said, “That’ll be 25 cents.” For a plastic spoon. I laughed, assuming it was a joke. It wasn’t.
Imagine nickel-and-diming your customers after they’ve already dropped a small fortune on sugar and flour. What’s next—charging for napkins? Breathing air inside the building? This place treats basic decency like a luxury upcharge. If you enjoy being gouged and insulted for wanting to share a dessert, you’ll love it here. Otherwise, spend your money somewhere that doesn’t operate like a vending machine with attitude.
UPDATE: You can see by their reply what kind of business they are. I never raised my voice, not for second. I did let them know that I thought it was a terrible policy. Truth hurts.
Customer service in the entire country is bad, that’s what happens when an entire people gets addicted to welfare, they stop trying to provide quality products and...
Read moreThe ice cream (and creativity) is worth it! My husband and I were craving ice cream and there were a few places recommended. However, hands down the most creative and delicious treat was Rolls of Heaven. I’ll admit, I was ready to write them off when I showed up during working hours (as advertised according to the Google) and two employees were present but the sign said “no employees” and two women were inside, but couldn’t serve us. To be fair, this was NOT a unique experience in Culebra: places do not adhere to their posted hours of operation or are open at weird, inconsistent times (one of my biggest frustrations about Culebra and Vieques as a type A person who likes to know in advance where her meals are coming from #sosueme).
Were they overly friendly? No. Could I see them kicking you out and refusing service because you didn’t wear a mask and follow the clear directions well posted in and outside their establishment? Absolutely, yes! Did they make one of the tastiest and most eye catching confections I have had to date? Heavens yes (they had me at edible glitter)! And I...
