My God. Who would have known that these steps (approximately 300) would be so dang high. Nearly each step is about a foot or so high, really working those leg muscles. And going down? Your poor knees will be sore. Now, I made the dumb decision of taking the wrong route to the stairs. Lemme explain: beginning at the sign, two trails diverge. One is a dirt track and the other is a cement path. I took the cement because I didn’t really have hiking shoes (had walking shoes and wasn’t sure if it had good grip). As I traversed this route, I wondered where the heck the stairs were. It wasn’t until I reached the end of the route did I realize I had accidentally circumvented around the steps. Still made it, took the last flight up, turned around, and then realized to my horror that the stairs were right behind me. So, I did the “logical” thing and went down, each step a nearly harrowing experience as the steps were covered in loose dirt. One wrong slip and I’d be a goner. But I made it down sweating and tired, and then, like a “genius” and even after trekking the cement path incline, I decided what the heck; I came here to try the stairs so imma do ‘em. And man those steps were grueling. Might not have been as bad if I had taken the dirt path which might’ve taken me directly to the stairs. But either way, I pummeled my body and made it 3/4 of the way up. Last flight of steps I just couldn’t. Nearly passed out. Didn’t even bring a water bottle. I knew if I even attempted another step, they’d have to air lift me to the nearest hospital. All this to say: if you wanna climb the stairs take the dirt path. Don’t be an idiot like me. If you want to circumvent the stairs and still reach the top, trek the cement path. Beautiful view by the way. A picturesque landscape awaits everyone at the top. Not the hardest or steepest hike. But those stairs are no joke. Bring the family. Bring some friends, furry or human. You’re bound to get a good workout and be rewarded with a dazzling view of Culver City and...

Read moreSaw posts on ig about these stairs and finally decided to try em🤙🤙Short walk up the path to the stairs from the street, the stairs are quite large so normal walking up the stairs is a bit tough.
However to the left of the stairs is a gradual path that will take you around to the top of the stairs if the stairs is not to your liking. Took my time doing the stairs and it was around 20 minutes. Looks easier than it really is. A good practice for Koko Head Trail on Oahu as that one is both hot and double the height of this one👍
Beautiful views of Los Angeles once you reach the top. Free street parking on both sides of Jefferson Avenue. Dont forget to bring your water as its starting to get into the summer...
