Every once in a while, I come across a product or service that chips away at what little faith I have left in humanity. Such has been my experience with Beats Studio Wireless headphones. Are there far more reprehensible examples of consumer junk repackaged as premium gear? Absolutely! Beats does not even make the top 100. So why am I wasting my time? I wish I could say that "if I can convince just one person not to buy this filth, I could rest easy." But that's just not true. I am far more interested in someone from Beats corporate team reading this. That's highly unlikely. If I am lucky, this snippet of verbal spume might transmute from the digital to a sheet of paper where it will be posted on a cork board along side the countless other letters you get from disenchanted nutters upset that their Beats didn't make their life complete. Here's the deal, I didn't buy the Beats Studio 2 Wireless Headphones that triggered this outpouring. I borrowed them from my little brother. He was perfectly happy with them for years. I went for a run, I got a little carried away with the intensity, and my perspiration caused some ions to go wayward. I knew the risks. I was naive enough to consider that such a "premium" product might be designed to accommodate such irresponsible uses by fools like me. Now I have to buy the kid new headphones. He wants the same ones. The warranty is expired and that prompted me to open the hood. Wow! The fundamental engineering principle of Beats can be summarized as follows: "maximize points of hardware failure vulnerability, minimize quality of critical components, and add every conceivable proprietary part and parcel so that no 3rd party repair service can get these tin cans fixed, and charge as much as possible!" I get it... this is just the way business is done these days. Kind of reminded me of Apple. It didn't surprise me in the least to find that Timmy Cook thought the same way.
