Met up with some family members to go on an easy/chill hike and to get a beautiful view of the city earlier today. One of my family members is a landscape architect, and they were pointing out some of the plants/shrubs that are local to the area (vs. transplants) & there were a few on the trail we walked on. The parking was easy & free- but I do have to point out that finding a restroom (by a lower playground/apparatus) was difficult but once we found one, it was well maintained- which is always appreciated. There were lots of little areas that you can sit down and connect with yourself or with your company. The "Baldwin Hills Outlook" was beautiful and different than the Outlook at Kenneth Hahn Park. If you want to go on the Culver City stairs, it's easily accessible but it looked pretty busy, and it seemed like the stairs were not all the same- as far as the height and width. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot to someone who is looking to get some exercise and also appreciate a view...
Read moreI found some of the less than conventional equipment on the playground to be rather dangerous for my little person to play on. The height of the climbing gym is a little too high, parents can't even reach the child if he or she needed to be rescued. There's another type of metal device that the child sits in and turns in circles where I saw a child get injured trying to play on it. The child got hit in the head by the moving equipment that she was trying use. I had to console her and let her mother know about her head injury. These two pieces of equipment are not safe for the 6 and 7 year old that attempted to use it. Beware parents, keep a close eye inside the sandbox with your kids while...
Read moreWe love this park! There's a skate park, lots of open lawn space, an abundance of shaded picnic tables, a playground with very cool climbing apparatuses, basketball courts, a dog park for large and small dogs. I really love that there's a wheelchair-accessible hiking trail that goes up to a lookout point with a fantastic almost 300° view. You can also drive to the top where there are baseball fields and additional parking. There's also ropes courses that groups reserve for team-building exercises. What's not to love?! ... oh... well, there's only a couple of bathrooms, and they aren't great, but they've always been stocked with paper when we've been there, and, hey, it's a...
