My experience with Legacy Auto USA stands as the single worst encounter I’ve had with any business.
I first visited Legacy Auto USA on December 16, 2018. On that very day, I signed the necessary documents and placed a down payment, expecting to finalize the purchase shortly. The dealership approved my loan from Lobel Financial and provided a loaner vehicle while my car, acquired from an auction, underwent minor cosmetic and mechanical repairs. I was assured that my vehicle would be ready by Monday at 6 pm or, at the latest, by Tuesday morning.
Monday came and went without any communication. Tuesday passed in silence, followed by Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Finally, on Saturday evening, I was informed that my car was ready. Eager to retrieve it, I rushed to the dealership, only to realize later that the car was handed to me with an empty fuel tank. As I drove it for the first time, the car wouldn’t start after refueling. Despite my calls, Cody, the salesperson, showed little concern. Fortunately, the mechanic who had worked on the car met me and fixed an electrical issue. He also discovered a significant fuel pump leak, which I had repaired immediately to ensure my car was roadworthy for a planned Christmas trip.
After returning from my trip, the check engine light came on. Coincidentally, Cody texted me, requesting that I bring the car in to install a GPS device, supposedly to satisfy the loan requirements from Lobel. I later discovered that Lobel had already denied the loan, and Legacy Auto USA had been aware of this. Their claim about the GPS device was a ruse to repossess the vehicle without resistance.
Legacy Auto USA admitted they had not received funding for the loan and fabricated the GPS story to retrieve the car. They refused to return my down payment, provided no valid reason for keeping it, falsified a buyer’s tag receipt on state letterhead, and lied to Lobel about my down payment amount to secure funding.
This ordeal left me without a car and my money. It epitomizes the deceit and unethical practices of a disreputable dealership. I strongly advise others to avoid Legacy Auto USA to prevent a similar nightmare. If you have any questions or need further details, feel free to reach out to me. This dealership embodies the worst elements of unethical...
Read moreI wanted to come and update my review I made on day 1 I thought everything was ok. It was NOT my car was not FULLY DETAILED like request it was bad sway bar link I kept hearing noises I took it back to Ryan who assured me car was fine. I had to fix that my car shakes when I accelerate from stop and go Peter was kind he checked it out but the problem is still not resolved. I have 3rd party warranty but the deductible is $100 and I have to pay for diagnostics of vehicle to see if they will approve repairs. I have only had car 3 weeks not a month I gave them $8000 plus I bought a set of new tires for $600 and I am will still have to find out why it’s shaking! I say please test the car real good and take a mechanic with you. I should not have to be trying to diagnose this vehicle within 30 days. I was going to get another vehicle on 8/22/24 but decided not to. My air conditioner was tested but it is hot some days cold some days TEXAS too hot for a shady air conditioner. I hate to say this but I’m displeased and disappointed because I paid real hard earned cash for this vehicle and not get to really use it without issues! Haven’t had car 30 days and need to PAY to get see why it’s shaking! Found out car had bad motor mount and I would say DO NOT BUY FROM HERE unless you get a FULL INSPECTION from mechanic! Test drive the car HARD not around the route they take you! I gave real cash for a headache of a vehicle! Put lipstick on a pig of a vehicle! I could have went to a dealer and paid cash for another vehicle if I knew this car would act up like it is! I wanted reply to the fact that my issues we not minor! Ryan was not trying to hear me with any of my concerns but Peter was kind and helpful the MINOR CONCERNS TURNED OUT TO BE A BAD TRANSMISSION. $6000 I have not had the car 60 days! There was an extended warranty on vehicle unfortunately it’s been HELL trying to use it as of 9/25/2024 the car is still at transmission shop. I did drive the car but I made complaints several times about how car was running. I am happy Peter is saying he will be here for me! I changed my review within 2 weeks of having the car because it was running terrible. Like I said just get a FULL INSPECTION on the cars...
Read moreRyan was amazing from beginning to end. My husband and I was skeptical about buying a used vehicle because you never know what you’re going to get. I can say Ryan was very patient with us, not pushy like most. He addressed all of our questions and was very honest and upfront. Amazing experience. He even detailed the vehicle for us. It run so smooth and good. No complaints at all. Thank you Ryan
Update: Not a happy camper 😔 I know when you buy used nothing will be perfect HOWEVER I am shy of a year of having my truck and all hell has been breaking loose. Started 6 months ago. Had to replace the a/c compressor and condenser .. ok cool no biggie I will take a loss on it. Although I voiced concerned of it when we bought it but Ryan reassured it was just hot outside the day we bought it and it’s fine. should have known better. Since then, had to replace the starter on it and it also need a fuel pump which all these are pricey jobs not to mention the truck is barely driven. I work from home. Grocery store relatives house nearby give or take and also it’s been wrecked near the fender . I’m sure he knew but fail to disclose . Way to much going on with this truck in less than a year and barely driven. All these issues didn’t just come up since we’ve had it. It’s been there. All I’m saying is get a mechanic to check it out before you buy here cause obviously they are not and just selling them straight from the auction or wherever they getting them from without checking anything just...
