Here is the letter I wrote motel 6 regarding my almost stay, thank god I booked with American Express and they refunded my money. ||||To begin let me say that this was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in in my entire life. I am now driving back to Sreveport Louisiana and as my fiancée drives I plan to write nothing but complaint letters and write negative reviews. Our stay was at the motel on forest lane in Dallas. We checked in around 4 and dropped our bags off in our room, then immediately left to go to dinner and a show. Upon arrival back to the room at approximately 11, we noticed as soon as we opened the door, an incredibly strong aroma of marijuana. Being a US Marine and my fiancée being a nurse, we do not put ourselves in that sort of environment willingly. We do not do illegal drugs and do not want to be around it, let alone have our belongings smell like it. I immediately went down to the front desk to inform the manager on duty about the problem. I told him that I did not want to stay in that room, and that I would either like a different room or a refund. He told me that there was nothing he was willing to do about the situation. I recorded him telling me this and being rude to me and am willing to provide you with the video caught on my camera phone. Then he sent the security guard up to my room, which I also recorded. He stated in the video how he could also smell a strong odor of marijuana. At this point the manager came up and also stated that he could smell the strong odor of illegal drugs. I requested for them to find if the smell was coming from the room next to us (that is all that makes sense) and he told me he would not. I asked him repeatedly to call the police to take care of the matter to which he ignored me and went into the office and locked the door. I proceeded to call Expedia to get a refund, and they told me over and over again that they would have to speak to the manager to authorize the request. I could see him inside ignoring the calls from expedia as I stood outside. I ended up calling American Express and canceling the payment since we would not be staying at some drug infested hotel. I could not believe that this is how a national chain handles their customers with situations involving illegal drugs. I plan to never spend another dime with a motel 6 as this was my first and only experience with motel 6. I want to know what is being done to handle this and why I was told that the police couldn't be called as requested. I plan on sending this into every military blog and website I am a part of, along with every news station I can find. The videos can be sent to you also if you would like. ||||Extremely...
Read moreWell, where do I begin?! It is Jan. 2025 and I have only stayed at this property twice, EVER! And both times were this month in Jan. 2025. First time, was on the weekend and it was a good stay. Next time for a week and it was not the same experience at all! Housekeeping comes by every damn morning, beating on the doors and when you refuse service...they still won't leave!!! You have to physically open the door and yell that you don't need service. Which is so very extreme but I'm guessing no one speaks English...moving on!! The rooms are decent, no bugs but I did see one baby roach but for a week's stay...I can deal with that. I woke up with bites one night but that could have been a mosquito, so I'll leave it at that. My main issue was having a fridge that DID NOT WORK and being LIED to by the front clerk, who I believe is the owner. Any-who, he lied to my face for 4 hours straight about swapping out the fridge. Just to finally say he didn't have any. After I had already been there, 1 night...with food that needed to be refrigerated because I did some light shopping. So, this made me have to keep my food on ice...in bags. Which was some straight bullshit! Back to housekeeping, one of them literally stole my massager that was in the bed. I called the front desk about it and not even 10 mins later, a maid is knocking and had my massager in a bag. Talking about housekeeping didn't know! What did she need to know exactly?? Because it was not hers regardless...but her ass knows how to steal!! TF? I can say that the location is spot on and the freeway access is too! Now, this is just my experience, so I can't say don't try this Motel 6 because I most definitely have been to worse Motel 6 properties. That I had to check out of and call corporate at that. But be cautious of lying from the front desk and stealing from housekeeping. Also, I had to keep on getting my key reset and that is very annoying as well. Enter At...
Read moreI rated it 4 stars because it really surprised me. Aside from the unattractive outer appearance, the place is really nice. They've remodeled it since years ago. Anytime I'd hear anything about a Motel 6, I would automatically develop a negative connotation. I always saw it as a place for prostitutes, strippers, etc etc. I didn't see nor experience any of that. It wasn't and isn't noisy in my opinion. Maybe because he placed us in a room away from the stairway near the front. Due to the fact that my family currently has no place to live, Motel 6 was reasonable and the option my husband felt would be best since other hotels and suites are too expensive for our current budget. The night shift receptionist is a really kind guy and helpful. I wish I knew his name. He really made it easy for us to check-in. The room was clean upon arrival despite the slim to none sightings of hair strands stuck inside of our towels. We use our own blankets and pillows on the beds and our own soap and things like that. When we first moved in our fridge wasn't working at all. Good thing we spotted it before buying food. They got it fixed the next morning since it was already too late when we notified them of it. So kudos to them for a timely response and getting it done. And with the new fridge I learned we can't stuff a lot of food in the small fridge or things won't get as cold as we'd like lol (our fault). Anyways, I'm rather comfortable with our decision to stay here until the Lord opens another door for our family. Hope my review helps in you...
