Frisby Cellars Winery - Dana Point Tasting Room — Attraction in Dana Point

this tasting room is on the pier and tucked into the plaza next to a very popular fish shop called Jon's fish market. We were drawn in by the 5 star rating and we had the specific intention of wine tasting this afternoon. The food menu is minimal if you follow a low carb diet (only olives and then lots of flatbreads/crackers on offer). We went with a white wine flight that - $20 - for approx 2 oz pours. Really great variety of whites and bc we didn't feel enticed by anything on food menu for pairing, they actually invited us to bring food over from Jon's. So that's what we did. Plus ordered their olives. YUMMM. After the tasting I went for a glass of Chardonnay. Great service! Super friendly and knowledgeable. Note: During our particular visit (Saturday afternoon), lots of loud families (kids) so def different vibe of your traditional wine bar, but def still worth a visit and taste of the wines! There were no tasting that I fully disliked - all really good - which says A LOT!...

Had a taste and completely fell in love! I bought 2 bottles of wine here. The wine is so smooth and delicious. I am so obsessed with this place, you guys have no idea. I have been raving about this place to all my friends to try to make them come with me so I can have a reason to come here again and taste their delicious wine.

The wine doesn't burn my throat and has amazing floral notes and the red wine is to die for! I forgot the name of it, but it is the most popular one they have. TRY IT. YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

My twin sister is not a wine drinker. But when I told her to try the red and white wine, she fell in love as well.

To be honest, I wish there were Frisby wine bottles at my local market so i can just keep stocking it. I live About 40 mins away so coming here would have to be an all day kind of thing. Which is fine...

This has to be hands-down my most favorite place for wine flights. I had seen this shop coming off the ferry and am glad I was able to make it back for an evening wine tasting. I had asked which is the driest wine and the lovely female team member mentioned everything is dry - what a delight! She kindly walked me through my options and I went for the $20 for 6 flight samples. I was blown away by all the samples I had tried, perhaps it was partial to Frisby's style of dry wines. It was one of the highlights in Dana Point, fantastic wine, great personable ambiance, and both team members tonight were remarkable in making the experience...
