The name says it all, it's an ideal beach for mom's and toddlers, nice sand, shallow water, no big waves and a protected swim area with life guards. We we there on a sunny summer Monday. Arrived at 10 am and the beach was fairly empty, but by noon it was rather crowded and again by 2 pm the crowd was thinning out. It a great place for kids to get used to water play, have fun in the sun and not have a bunch of big kids crashing around. Most of the crown appeared to be moms and kids with a few grand parents also. Lots of free parking but also lots to do in the area so you may have to drive around to find a spot. The beach is free. There are also shady grassy areas with tables and benches just east of the beach. I suggest bringing a wagon to load all your gear and spend a day at this awesome beach. The Ocean Institute is just across the parking lot. If you want more of an open ocean experience, Dohney State Beach is perhaps a quarter mile south. Several restaurants and rental stores...
