This is a great place. We attend our church's Annual Conference at Lakeside every year and the daily meetings are held in Hoover Auditorium. This is one of those great old places that you rarely find any more, but it isn't just a dusty museum piece, it is comfortable and modern as well. The acoustics are quite good and with the large projection screens that are up during our conference, it is easy to see, and hear, what is happening on stage. Read moreLakeside is still going strong as a retirement community, and their entertainment temple is this place. Stop by any weekend evening to see all the old folks congregate and be entertained by acts ranging from the washed up to the absurd.
It is interesting to see the steel bracing that has been installed to shore up the failing wooden interior beams. It almost looks like it was original to the building.
