Overnight trip from Cleveland to Lakeside Chautauqua! (Hosted visit) This unique community on Lake Erie dates back to 1873, when it was formed as part of the American Chautauqua movement. It’s run like a resort that gives off adult summer camp vibes. In the summer, you pay an entry fee to get into the community, and then have access to a variety of events and activities designed to nurture the mind, body, and spirit. Check out the video to see what we did on an overnight trip, or visit the bIog for a full guide! A few things to know before you go: 1. There’s both an entry fee and parking fee; park outside the community to save some money. Once inside you can walk or take free golf cart shuttles around. 2. Bring cash, as some businesses dont take card. 3. Know that this is a dry community! Embrace that mocktail life. Great weekend vacation for a family, an elderly couple or a team bonding trip. There is free shuffleboard, an amazing pool, pickleball courts, a beautiful pier, massive parks, mini golf, kayak and paddleboard rental, and a quiet atmosphere. The main street district has many ice cream shops, souvenirs, small art galleries, and coffee shops. This is an amazing experience and I can't say enough about it.

Lakeside is an amazing place to get away and relax. They have miniature golf, a pool, lake access, sail boats, paddle boards, shuffle board, movie theater and many local shops and ice cream places. I love my time here and always look forward to coming back. The staff here are always nice and the people here make an amazing, friendly environment.

It’s very picturesque and the weather and water are beautiful. They have so many leisure opportunities and stores. The downside is the $30/day price tag to get in even if you own a home here as well as the rules and restrictions. The residents seem unfriendly in a friendly kind of way. I’m a bit brown and there doesn’t seem to be a high instance of other brown people so whenever I walk my dog I feel like I get looks/cold shoulder from most of the residents. I can’t imagine what kind of response I would get if I spoke Arabic...

Not a place i would bring children. Shirts aren't worn in restaurants and thong bikinis are everywhere. So many people barely wearing any clothing and it's super uncomfortable with all the bear rear ends everywhere. This place has definitely changed over the years and definitely not for the better. If you like the South Beach atmosphere with people barely clothed and doing inappropriate things, then this place is for you! The staff and store owners...

We attempted to visit the Patio from Erie Beach Rd to 2nd St and was stopped by a person at a gate, saying Lakeside is a limited access gated community, no access except the people who belong to the community. We were forced to back out with a boat in tow. What a pain. People need to know this. Has nothing to do with the restaurant. No option was given by this person to access the restaurant any other way and we told him we wanted to go to the...
