7/29/22: Ok, DO NOT FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS THAT TAKE YOU TO HARBOR BLUFF ROAD, INSTEAD, GO INTO VILLAGE POINT PARK PRESERVE! Seriously, unless you have a machete And want to cut through thick vegetation, go to the park next door. Park in the parking lot, and walk down the pedestrian only road in Village Point Park Preserve. As soon as you are on that road, keep your eyes on the woods to the right of you, maybe a quarter of a mile down the road, you will see a boardwalk off on the right, there is a small, unmarked trail that will lead you to the boardwalk & Jackson Oak. Read moreWhile I was disappointed at the lack of signage, inadequate directions (map system took us to a dead end road with no trespassing signs and no sign of the oak) and lackluster upkeep onsite, I was pleased to eventually find the majestic oak and wonder at its significance (I had to wonder because there was no historical marker or other information available there).
