BACK IN THE DAY WHEN I WAS A LITTLE GIRL, MY GRANDMOTHER SARAH ANN CRANDALL OWNED AND RAN THIS CLUB. BACK THEN IT WAS CALLED THE EDGEWATER BEACH CLUB. WE USE TO SWIM ON THIS BEACH. THEIR SHE MADE HER LIVING SELLING DINNERS FROM FISH,CRAB,CLAMS,SCALLOPS,SHRIMP AND LIVING OFF THE LAND FROM HER GARDEN. THE CLUB HAD A BANDSTAND, VERY LARGE DANCE FLOOR, 1 POOL TABLE, BAR, KITCHENS AND ROOMS SHE RENTED IN THE BACK OF THE CLUB. DURING THE SUMER, THE CLUB WAS ALWAYS PACKED FROM FRIDAY TO SUNDAY. SOMETIMES STRAGGLERS CAME IN DURING THE WEEK. SHE WAS THE BEST SEAMSTRESS IN TOWN WHO MADE CLOTHES AND OTHER GARMENTS/BLANKETS/QUILTS FOR US AND OTHER PEOPLE. THIS CRAFTSMANSHIP RUBBED OFF ON ME AND MY MOTHER. SARAH MARRIED MY GREAT UNCLE BUCK CRANDALL( MY DADS UNCLE) WHO ALSO HAD LOTS OF LAND. MY MOTHER HAD ALREADY MARRIED MY FATHER BEFORE SHE MARRIED MY UNCLE. THEY NEVER HAD KIDS. AND EVEN THOUGH SHE MARRIED ONCE BEFORE AND SEVERAL TIMES AFTER MY UNCLE'S DEATH, SHE CONTINUED TO HOLD ONTO THE CRANDALL NAME UNTIL HER DEATH. AFTER HIS DEATH SHE SOLD THE LAND SO THAT DAPHNE WAS ABLE TO GROW. ASK ANYBODY ABOUT HER, I BET THEY KNEW HER OR SOMEONE IN YOUR FAMILY KNEW HER. THE CRANDALL NAME WAS WELL KNOWN BACK THEN. ALMOST LIKE BEING FAMOUS. AFTER HURRICANE FREDERIC KNOCKED DOWN EDGEWATER CLUB AND SHE SLIGHTLY REBUILT THE PLACE UP ON STILTS NO FAMILY MEMBERS WANTED TO TAKE OVER AND RUN THE CLUB. SO BEFORE HER DEATH SHE DONATED IT TO THE CITY OF DAPHNE WITH CERTAIN STIPULATIONS. NOW, I HAVE MY LAND I WANT TO SELL. ...

I WISH I COULD LEAVE A FEW NEGATIVE STARS. I WAS TOLD BY ALL EMPLOYEES THAT CONDUCT BUSINESS FOR THE BAYFRONT PAVILLION THAT YOU HAD TO HAVE AN APPOINTMENT FOR A WALK THRU/ TO SIGN A CONTRACT AND PAY DEPOSIT. I SPOKE WITH BONNIE ON OCT 5 WHO SENT ME AN EMAIL OF THE CONTRACT AND SCHEDULED ME AN APPOINTMENT FOR THUR OCT 18 AT 2PM TO SIGN AND PAY DEPOSIT FOR MY WEDDING ON DEC 29, 2018. WELL TODAY I CALLED TO CONFIRM APPOINTMENT TIME AND WAS TOLD BY SHANNON WHO IS OVER SALES SOMEONE HAS PAID AND BOOKED FOR THAT DAY ON YESTERDAY 10/16/18 THAT WAS A WALK IN AND HAD NO APPOINTMENT? MY FRUSTRATION COMES FROM 1ST I CALLED YOU, YOU DIDNT CALL ME. 2ND HAD I NOT CALLED I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN THE DATE WAS NOW UNAVAILABLE I WOULD HAVE SHOWED UP TO MY SCHEDULED APPT. THIRD THERE IS NOTHING IN WRITING STATING THAT THEY WILL NOT CALL YOU AFTER YOU HAVE A SCHEDULED APPT TO PAY, NOT WALK THRU TO LET YOU KNOW DAY IS UNAVAILABLE. SHANNON WAS THE MOST RUDEST UNPROFESSIONAL PERSON I HAVE MEET IN MY LIFE. SHE WAS VERY UNAPOLOGETIC AND HAD NO CARE THIS IS MY WEDDING DAY NOT JUST A RANDOM PARTY. SINCE THE MONTH OF JULY I HAVE HAD SEVERAL CONVERSATIONS ABOUT THIS DAY AND THE PROCEDURE AND IT ALL CHANGED ACCORDING TO SHANNON. HORRIBLE WAY TO DO BUSINESS WHEN YOU ARE IN...

This is a nice place for a walk. The reconstructed boardwalk, new pier, and expanded greens next to the parking lot has enhanced the experience. However, I feel that there could be more signage regarding the risk that the alligators pose. I enjoy seeing the wildlife and respect the right for the alligators, snakes, and all other of God's creatures to exist here. Unfortunately it seems that many people don't fully realize how many alligators are actively swimming and feeding a matter of feet off the beach. Every time I have been here I've seen unleashed dogs and children allowed to go into the water. In some other parts of Mobile Bay, this is not such a danger, but the proximity of the park to the greater Mobile-Tensaw Delta simply just has a more concentrated population of alligators. This is not a call to cover the beach with police tape or have signs every few feet or so, but the risk level combined with the observable either lack of care, or likely lack of awareness is simply a tragedy...

2024.01.13 - Came here to relax and fly my drone around and take some pretty pictures of the park. The park has grown up over the past years. Better boardwalks and some asphalt walkways have been added over the last 8 years. There are two fishing piers in the park. The north fishing pier is a little smaller than the southern fishing pier. The southern fishing pier also has a square donut style walkway at the end. Different from other fishing piers I've seen. Good parking on the north side of the park and close to Moe's Original BBQ for dinner. Watched the sunset here. Absolutely gorgeous. There are new bathrooms in a small white shed style building. Very new. OK lighting in the pergolas but the park is closed as dusk so the lighting is not designed to allow you to spend the evening in the park. Definitely a peaceful place to come and relax and unwind from the wilds of the world.

A great place to walk and clear your mind. I take my son there quite often, he has autism and does not like to go many places oh, but he does love this place for some reason. It's a great place to take a walk through nature... there is a fishing pier that has recently been rebuilt although I don't know how the fishing is. Be sure to spot wildlife, last time we were there we saw and 8 foot female alligator, she must have a nest nearby, look to the left on the first Bridge. Also saw a huge cottonmouth and juvenile alligator. I misspoke, there are two fishing pier that I know of if you read the plate it says something about Indian burial mounds as well as a giant tree oh, I must have went the wrong way I so neither but I did not walk the whole park. All in all it's a great place to go and a very pleasant experience.
