We walked our dog down this trail that leads to the pier and we saw an armadillo you do have to be careful and pay attention to the directions you're going so you don't get turned around you can always use your Google maps to help you know what direction to go But you do have to watch out for the wildlife which is nice to be able to observe that part of nature there is a picnic area if you want to take some food out there and sit at the picnic area but let's hope you are smart enough to clean up after yourself 😉

7/25/22: Awesome walk with the dog. This park is great for dogs, my dog is a smeller, and he was going nuts from all the smells. This Park & Bay Front Park are connected and right next to one another. Basically, I started my walk at Village Point Park Preserve & ended my walk at Bay Front Park, where I was able to hangout and sit with my dog at the pier and enjoyed the breeze & view. Signs are posted warning of alligators & snakes, I did not see any, but I knew they were nearby. When walking on the boardwalk trail, I heard something big splashing around in the water, too bad I was not able to see it but thankfull to be on...

New to the area, so when I came across this beautiful gem I couldnt wait to explore. Did both a hike and bike ride in the park. Both were easy, moderate and non challenging. Trails were clean and well kept. Barely saw people on the paths. The D'Olive cemetery was super cool for a history buff like myself and the Jackson oak was gorgeous. The benches are perfect for resting but the picnic tables were a bit run down and weathered. A beautiful cazebo allows for a shaded rest near trees and the perfect amount of sun. A perfect afternoon adventure. Dont forget to catch the sunset on the beach. A perfect...

This beautiful and historic tree is wonderfully protected and taken care of and is worth a visit both from the aspect of it's historic association with Jackson and from a naturalist's standpoint as it is truly a majestic specimen. I agree with others that signage could be better. We got lost trying to find it from the parking lot and had to ask for directions. It is my understanding that there are other champion trees in the park nearby, but the day we were there many paths were roped off and inaccessible due I believe to...
