Great place to bring children . But as any outing or trip with kids or elderly . He prepared bring snacks water and convenience items ..however there will s a water fountain a bathroom and vending machine .also a gas station right on the same corner as the park that offers anything you may need there are close by fast food options as well along with a nice public library All within walking distance or a quick ride a few blocks away. .there are a few trees for shade but mostly open area and some canopy . Can play basketball or tennis and a huge play park for kids some for toddlers as well some for older kids .. friendly people .I have met some dad's and mom's with thier families and it's always nice to have good people you don't have to worry about.. it's a community park they have held darien fest here for many years . Big name bands..have entertained the public .. come make the best of a nice spring and summer day .....
Read moreIf your wondering where to take your little ones, I highly recommend coming here. There is two parks, one park is gated and 8 different activities some are pretend play. There's a lemonade stand, music stand, theater stand, firefighter stand, a big sand box with digging tools, a big spin toy, and a pirate ship connected to the playground. You can definitely take your young kiddos ages from 18months - 7 years old. One down side is that there is no swings for the babies. There's a picnic table with a huge umbrella for shade.
The other park is for bigger kids, and it's on the other side. We didn't have the chance to go to that one, but we will be definitely...
Read moreThis looked like a nice park overall. We spent most of our time at the brand new park here (grand opening on August 1, 2018), which has some damage already, unfortunately. In the music section, one of the keys on the keyboard gets stuck, and it looks like a metal rope that held a mallet was cut; it's now rather sharp. The "rolly slide" doesn't roll too well; my son kept getting stuck.
On the bright side, there are some fun areas, including a sandbox, a fire truck, lemonade stand, and merry-go-round.
Finally, there is almost no shade at the new park, so be sure to bring sunscreen and hats, too.
The older park looks fun. We'll have to try...
