Ikeda's Markets — Attraction in Davis

If you aren't going or returning from Tahoe (passing through Auburn), the Davis location is the next best thing to pick up a pie or freshly picked fruit. Smaller than the Auburn location, it does not sell burgers or freshly baked single serving chicken pot pie. Do get a basket of Ikeda's orchard grown peaches and nectarines. The flavor and sweetness is to die for.

Their pies are amazing, worth every penny. My favorites are the peach and mile high Apple pies. It's all fruit, hardly any syrup, and fruit is firm. The apple pie consists of over 3 lbs of sliced apples. Ikeda's also bakes cookies. Their chocolate chip walnut cookies are substantial and on the crispy side. Definitely can taste the butter!

The Davis store is cute, has A/C blowing during the summer and picnic tables outside. Great place to stop, stretch your legs, get some snacks, a pie (freshly baked or frozen) drinks. Plenty of...

Used to be obsessed with this place since it’s really close to my house but last few times I’ve been there I got a soggy beet, cheese that had gone bad (it was cheddar so it’s not like I tried something new and didn’t know what to expect), and my actual favorite stuff there has always been their merchandise which has gone way downhill in quality. I own at least 10 of their t-shirts and they recently changed to some awful brand that is itchy and fits terribly. GO BACK TO THE OLD COMPANY! What a bummer.

The pies are good, but 3 stars for difficulty in shopping here as a parent. The parking lot is unpaved, and the store aisles are narrow and crowded. I had a lot of difficulty shopping here with a young child. You will not be able to fit a stroller down the aisle, there is stuff everywhere, and getting the cart and the stroller over an unpaved parking lot, covered in sharp rocks, is pretty impossible. I don’t know if the pies are so good that they justify the hassle, esp for Sacramento residents who have Ricks Dessert Diner, which has a huge selection and takes pre/special orders.
