Tonight my boyfriend and I had dinner at Ronin, a place we frequently visit, and experienced a different type of service this time. The first few times we’ve been we’ve had amazing service. The servers were always generous and helpful, however tonight my server was not like the others. We had a guy server who we’ve never seen there before, no big deal until we sat there for 20 minutes without any service before being helped. Once we were helped we ordered right away and the server was not all there. We ordered a high class bottle of sake and normally all the other servers would bring a container of ice with the bottle to keep it cold, however ours did not. We had to ask for the side container of ice. When it came to the food service that was the worse part. We sat there for 45 minutes before receiving our food to which we watched a table who came in after us get fully served drinks and food before us. When the food came I noticed one of the rolls I ordered was wrong, I brought this to his attention and he said he made the mistake and would fix it & he did, however when we received our bill we noticed we’ve been overcharged for the 5 rolls we ordered. We also brought this to his attention and he did nothing to help change the price or to help us understand why we got overcharged. We said something to another girl server working near by and she was generous to offer us management and constantly apologized for our bad service but we told her it’s not her fault, she wasn’t our server. We did pay for the bill given to us but it has aggravated us to be treated like this by someone so new. We love this place and do not want to stop coming because of this. Other than the service provided tonight we do enjoy ourselves whenever we come to this restaurant. Ronin is always our go to...

Terrible sushi selection and EXTREMELY over-priced! We ordered a few nigiri, and where I come from they are traditionally served with 2 pieces (the price reflects that); I had to confirm with our waitress that they only served one piece at a time when we got our plate! I was shocked. The quality of the fish and the sushi was definitely NOT worth the steep price tag! I have had exponentially better sushi, here in the US, for half the price. The service was also horrendous. Our waitress had two of her friends seated at the table next to ours, and she wouldn't stop chatting with them or even look away from them to see that I and my fiance both needed a drink refill and that we had finished our plate! It was roughly 20 minutes of non-stop chatting with them until she left to the kitchen without checking on us, another 10 minutes or so of us waiting for her to appear again, and then finally she returned some time later. They also have some bizarre "art" up on the walls; it's made to look Japanese, but you can tell it's a sad attempt. There's a piece on one wall of a half-clothed woman riding a horse, made to look like a samurai. It's just absolutely bizarre and my fiance and I were making fun of the insane choice of decoration the entire dinner, since we were forced to wait on our waitress (haha, the irony) for so long.

The only good thing about this restaurant is that the bathroom was nice and clean. That's it.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. In fact, I would do my best to steer people...

So I never usually have a bad experience when I go here I've been going here for years they have a fantastic selection of sake as well as there Sushi always being quality. But tonight was the night that would have made someone's first time their last time me and two friends went in and ordered a few rolls and upon telling them that one of them wasn't what I ordered when I ordered a fish roll I got a fried chicken roll and was told that I might have been mistaken when I was asked what the issue was after I was asked twice if I wanted salmon or prawns in my roll our intolerant friend ordered sushi rolls without cream cheese and upon telling them they brought back the same roles that I had without cream cheese and then upon telling them that they messed up again they brought another role that wasn't even the role she was eating. On top of that watch tea tables walk out and leave because they also had a similar experience and one table get up and leave because the wait was so long for the food they've been sitting there for over an hour without receiving an order which we were alongside with him but we are all catching up so we didn't mind the way you figured it was busy it look more packed than usual. Seems like a freak accident but then again I have not been here on a regular basis since about four years ago but as my first time going back in a long time it was definitely a experience to say the least but the atmosphere and the quality of everything was...

Five stars aren’t enough for Ronin’s Sushi & Bar in Daytona. Hands down, this was the best sushi we’ve had in northeast Florida—and we’ve tried quite a few spots. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. We ordered the Ultimate Roll and the Ronin Roll, both of which delivered that perfect balance of flavor, texture, and creativity you hope for when eating high-end sushi. But the real showstopper? The Kobe sliders. I haven’t stopped thinking about them since. They were juicy, flavorful, and honestly ruined me for other burgers or sliders—they’ve set a new standard. They also came with tempura-style sweet potato fries that were out of this world—crispy on the outside, perfectly soft inside, and totally addictive. On top of the amazing food, the service was just as impressive. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Since it was our first visit, they even surprised us with sake samples, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the whole experience feel even more special. We’re already planning our next trip back. It’s the kind of place you want to tell everyone about and take out-of-town guests to. Ronin’s is an absolute gem in Daytona.

My significant parallel had suggested this as one of her favorite sushi restaurants. I decided for an intimate dinner coupling that I would give this place a try. Boy did it not disappoint. The appetizer alone was impressive with multiple variety of different starting teasers, I almost thought we wouldn’t be able to order sushi rolls. We decided to save half the appetizer platter for a nice late night snack, which we ended up having for lunch next day. We then ordered 3 different sushi rolls to share with each other. All 3 were delicious and had a different texturing along with fresh taste, kudos to sushi chefs. Our waitress Rachel I felt bad for because she was single handling the customer tables while the other two front girls basically sat around checking their phones and not helping. Rachel helped us with all of food questions and was patient with us. She definitely earned her 18% for serving courtesy with a smile. I definitely will come back to this location just based off of delicious food experience. If you’re looking for a sushi spot in Daytona Beach I would highly recommend even just coming in for a light bite. Zest of the best! Thank you

This isn’t the first time I was here. However, this time might be the last. I don’t normally give negative reviews, but the service is horrible. I sat at the bar and it was pretty busy. There was one waitress, not my bartender, Who actually got what I needed. The bartender had completely forgotten until the end. There was another waitress/bartender, talking about her personal life to the couple next to me, very unprofessional. I was there to enjoy my dinner, not hear about how her life was. She was also told several times by another employee that she had tables waiting. Funny thing I probably tip better than, a party of two, maybe even four if the service is really good. Doesn’t matter how much my check is. I felt very ignored. The food was good. The service is horrible, to me if the food is OK and the Service is great, that’s what it’s about. There are a lot of other choices for sushi that I will pick now. Maybe somebody else took over this restaurant since I was here last year.
