It's a free park that's a pretty good place to take kids with a good view of the river and with a delightful pavilion and run on sentences. It's a pretty safe park. Watch your kids and don't let them take their own guns or knives. It's also got the bike trail head which is cool. Smoking is frowned upon at children's playgrounds, but it doesn't seem to stop any of the idiots that do. They'll never read this, so it's ok. They're still idiots and they're happily killing their families and themselves. Cool story. Here's another. You can go fishing at this park and catch things. There's a cat food plant that has a delightful smell and it attracts millions of species of fish from around the globe. You have to be REALLY CAREFUL when you cross the train track because it sometimes has trains in it. They're a little less forgiving than smokers when you call them names, but more polite. If they run you down it's mostly your own fault. ...

On the morning of September 26, 2025, I stopped by Rhodes Ferry Park. It is a beautiful park that is well manicured and maintained and appears to be in a safe area. There were two covered pavilions with concrete floors, one larger one and one smaller one. Each pavilion had picnic tables and the smaller Pavilion had two electrical outlets. There is a sign on the larger Pavilion with a number to call for reservations. There was also a wooden gazebo walkway. There were plenty of park benches scattered around the park. There was also a large amount of playground equipment and even contained a swing that was made for a wheelchair lift. There were several educational signs containing historical information about the Cherokee trail of tears. The only negative thing about this park that I could see was that the restrooms...

It's always beautiful, well kept landscaping, clean kept grounds. The bathroom leaves very much to be desired but it is public. It's a great place for children's parties, to let them play, take your mom for a picnic, sit and chat with friends (other than the occasional locomotive horn, it is rather quiet, I think.) It is, also, a great place to park your car during a particularly long phone conversation and not be bothered. Great view in every direction. We love to do photos there. I've been doing event photos there...

Very pretty park, beautiful gazebo and very nice overlook area over the Tennessee River. Really neat seeing the old railroad tracks near the waters edge. You can also see the railroad bridge and the large car bridge from the overlook. Enjoyed reading about another section of the trail of tears. Very sad what they had to go through.

The playground equipment is a little old. A lot of rusted metal area, bathroom is clean enough with a smell of smoke but other than that it is a solid park. The play area has more than enough for the kids to enjoy, picnic area, benches, grass and great views of the river. Great place to stop and bring the family.

Decent park in downtown Decatur with a nice Riverside view of two bridges. The park itself looks like it'd be fun for kids as it had a playground, or maybe lunch breaks. I liked that it is within walking distance of Bank St. which is kind of the downtown street.
