Worst Hilton hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Definitely not like any other Doubletree property. The rooms we stayed in had no windows to the outside making them dark and damp smelling. It was set up like a motel with the rooms around a large open space that had chairs and T.V’s. The only window opened up into the hallway facing the common area. The bathroom was the smallest hotel bathroom I’ve ever seen. Maybe 4 feet by 3 feet. It was also very dirty. Grime was built up in the corners with toe nail clippings and hair on the floor. I guess housekeeping missed this as you would have had the door closed to see it. The toilet paper holder was broken and the roll was just placed on the broken holder. We had a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom unit. My son’s bathroom had no towels just a wash cloth. I went to the front desk and waited 10 minutes for an employee to show up to assist. I asked for towels and she snapped at me you need extra. I explained no we had no towels in the second room. She did get me some towels but was less than happy to help. The bed was comfortable and looked clean so that was the only positive for our stay. As we settled in to go to sleep we kept hearing a loud thunk and lots of children running and laughing. At 10:00 at night a large group had set up cornhole boards and decided let’s just play in the middle of a hotel. The phone in the room did not work so I used my cell and had to try multiple times to get an answer. I asked if the hotel had quiet hours and she didn’t understand. I explained that a cornhole game was going on in the middle of the hotel and she said well it’s 10:00 so it should calm down soon. This hotel gave college dive motel vibes. Definitely not a $200 a night business class hotel that I’ve come to expect from Doubletree. As a diamond member we had a $30 credit for our room. Before check out we got coffee . Just check my bill on the email yep was charged for the coffee after she told us it would be part of the $30 credit.

Hotels like this make me question why I have any loyalty to one brand. The inconsistency is so frustrating. I booked a king suite. On the Hilton app this looks like a larger room with a sofa - I’m trying to have a bit more room to have a place to sit, complete work at the end of the day, etc. What I was given was some weird adjoining room situation with extra twin beds. The space was completely unusable for the purposes I booked it for. The room was in a part of the hotel that has no windows - other than windows that look directly into the hallway - resulting in a dark and dingy room. The only lighting was a few dim table lamps. The photos below are taken at 9am - it may as well be 2am. The shower was moldy, the furniture was torn and stained, holes in the walls some of which came with a creative “patch” job. Service was another issue. Most of the people that I encountered seemed to have forgotten that they work in the hospitality industry. On m final day I was trying to leave my room, the only exit being a narrow hallway to get around to stairs or the elevator. Housekeeping had their cart in the middle of the hallway. The agent came into the hallway, looked at me as if I was in the way - then ducked back into the room when I said excuse me - instead of moving the cart - I had to squeeze through with my luggage. They said nothing other than asking for my room number. A maintenance crew blocked another hallway - so I also slid around them - then when I finally reached the front desk to check out and retrieve a paper receipt - there was no one to be found. I travel weekly for business and rely on reviews to try to find nice accommodations. I’m sure there are rooms in this hotel that are better. I’m sure there are friendly staff. I just did not have that experience here. So, book here - but know that you’ll run the risk of being stuck in one of their cave rooms with people that aren’t glad to have you there.

Horrible experience. We came as a group and booked about 30+ rooms. During our stay we find out about an adults only poker party they are throwing in the living spaces of the hotel. Regular guests that paid to stay were blocked from enjoying the space and some amenities including locking the pool before the posted closing time, taking all the towels so we couldn’t swim, and blocking of many parts of the hotel needed to get back and forth from parking to our rooms. We were told to go to our rooms by 10pm. Not to mention open bars and gambling/betting/cursing and belligerent drunkenness all about 10 feet from our rooms. We were told it would last until 12am and the main event is held around many guest rooms. Eliminating security, privacy, and safety. Not to mention the electrical outlet laid out on the floor. We have a toddler and this is not safe at all or up to building code. Do not come to this hotel if you have a family or kids. This is a family friendly hotel and we were not notified of this adult party. No professionalism, no care for guests, and no care for safety of the guests or their kids. To say the least we won’t be back and I recommend you do the same.

I have stayed here since October 2024 through March of 2025 about 95% of the time that I was there. As a Dimond member that left IHG years ago because of the lack of well everything I have enjoyed my HHoners. I say all of this so whoever reads this understands that I have a lot of hotel background as I have traveled for 20+ years. As a Double Tree hotel there is an expectation that this hotel lacks in some of the simple ways as well as the big ones. first I will start with the building The rooms are out of date, the carpet, TV, lamps, everything it feels old and IS WORN OUT!!! The building is falling apart, the roof collapsed onto a car in the loading area a. there is water marks in almost every room on the upper level that I have seen from the roof. b. The back door by the pool will not let you in with a key card after 8:00 pm you have to go upstairs go in and then back down stairs to get to your room if on the first floor. I have told them about it for months and noting has been done about it. c. The elevators are old and break down all the time and run very slow Next I will talk about the House keeping During my stay housekeeping was an issue every single day, like EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! the people in house keeping was the worst I have ever seen in all my WORLD travels. the 5th floor did not have this issue. but all others do. the common areas stayed clean as well. several times I would come back from work and see a bag with towels hanging on my door. most times I didn't. They would never check the shampoo and soaps in the shower and most times I wouldn't think about it till I was in the shower with nothing to wash with. a couple times they would knock and come in and I would ask them to come back in an hr and I would see them and or could tell that they never came back. I started cleaning my own room and even borrowed a vacuum from someone in a common area so that I could vacuum my own room. I would truly start over wit this entire staff of house keepers except for whoever cleans the 5th floor. maybe make that one a manager. The security in the building is a joke and most times in a corner on the phone or asleep if even there it did seem to get better as the end of my stay by maybe 5% maybe 10% The indoor pool is a nice area and seemed to be well taken car of the gym upstairs in the 2 story building is a nice touch The restaurant is better than it was when I fist started coming there but still needs some work to get updated. the food was better this month then in the past. I can tell that that they are making some changes.

The people that I have meet there that stands out to me are the ones that went out of there way to make sure not just I but other reactions that I saw them helping others as well. Kenzie Zoe Eddi Lee Ragan

Another thing that I would complain about is the upgrade I had to ask for an upgrade after staying there several times. I always seem to get them every where else I go but here. its almost seems like The other thing I would say is an issue is the bushes by the road prevent you from seeing to get out of the parking lot and is a bad safety issue and will eventually cause an accident.

I have pointed out many of the issues directly to management like the door not working after a certain time and doesn't seem like they are doing anything about. I am not trying to throw my Dimond member around but most of this stuff is basic hotel things not going above and beyond. Over all this hotel needs attention or the Hilton name needs to...

Parking was not the best, especially if your room is on the atrium/pool side. The building is an old Holiday Inn. The insides have been completely redone and for this reason I give it 4 stars for cleanliness and comfy beds. The King one bedroom suite is a two room area that is nice large areas. The bedroom has a bed, two closets..one was a walk in. The bathroom was standard but I love the way they replace the shower curtains with clean fresh ones as well as all the bedding. Alot of hotels have switched over to the all white bedding. It helps me sleep with confidence resting in the crisp clean bedding. If it has a little spit..I know it is from me instead of worrying someone made a bed and left the old sheets and blankets. This hotel is the first I've noticed having the whole comforter and sheet set on each maid cart for each room. They do a great job at keeping the whole hotel looking clean. The weight/exercise room is one of the best I've seen for a smaller hotel. The swimming pool is both indoor and outdoor with a hot tub. The staff are awesome! The maintenance guy was top notch. He tried to help me get my ROKU working..even though he had never used one. I am grateful for the effort. Two things I can say is the negative, first..because the hotel is a dated building the outside areas..like stairwells are rundown and dirty looking. Kind of creepy feeling...next, the Loud noises from the outside traffic..and train tracks close by. We had a commercial fan that helped drown out the sound..it helped but we still awakened several times throughout the nights to Jake brakes, heavy tractor trailer traffic..it is at 3 sides of the hotel. The back rooms facing the river get the choo choo train noise. We were there for a week and while so much of this hotel was great..the noise would be a definite deterrent...make sure to bring a noise canceling set of ear plugs and a loud fan..it helps. The hotel is located within ten minutes of several places to eat, to shop, to discover Decatur and the rich...
