De Kalb Confectionary — Attraction in DeKalb Township

I wish I could come here everyday!! The chocolate is to die for and I love all the other treats!! The owners and workers are so nice and helpful. Once I mentioned how I thought a cow tail display looked cool and Todd let me take two of them! I still have the cups displayed! Another time I had a giftcard and they left a register open just for me to keep a running total to make sure I could use all of my gift card!! My favorite is the chocolate truffles (I think they’re truffles?) flavored raspberry and orange. I also love the sea monsters, caramel apples, chocolate covered cherries, and Harry Potter chocolate frogs!! They also have delicious craft soda!! Absolutely wonderful experience. The employees, particularly the gentleman who was passing out caramels, were super friendly and helpful. They have a wide variety of specialty chocolates and fun candies to fit any taste. They even have SUGAR FREE chocolates and caramels! YAY! I can say with sincerity that the sugar free candy is just as delicious as the regular candy. This is important to me as a diabetic, even through I don't have a huge sweet tooth, when I do crave a good chocolate, I have somewhere to find one. This place is pretty amazing, I was looking for chocolates and saw this on Google maps. Went the next day and the lady working was very nice, helpful, and kind. She offered suggestions and helped show me things very similar to what I was looking for. I ended up walking out buying just under $20 of candy and I shared with some people here and there and I still have a bunch left. I will say you get a lot for what you pay for. I do want to come back soon since I've almost run out.
