pOpshelf — Attraction in DeLand

This was a cluster from the beginning. Zero stars if that was a choice. Ordered an item online and the store had 4, which I needed for a July 4th party. Received an email saying it was delayed. Called 800 number on the email and talked to "Rick". After quite some time investigating, he came back to say it was being processed and would be ready by my 5:00 pickup time and I would need to pick it up before 6 or it would go back on the shelf. Tried calling the store 4 times to verify the order was being processed and no answer. Drove 10 miles to the store only to find out they had no knowledge of the order nor did they have the product. Asked Kaley and another "supervisor" to speak to their manager. Amy came out, apologized for the order fiasco and blamed it on HO. I was irritated for driving all that way and let her know that. Her response "What do you want me to do?" ANSWER THE DAMN PHONE, AMY!! or give the phone to someone who would be more likely to answer because "you were tied up in meetings all day". Called 800 number again on my way home - the order had been canceled. Haven't bought anything from Popshelf and will never buy anything...

Nice store, it's kinda like a 5 and below, some things are more than $5 though but honestly pretty good prices for the quality of the items, only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is bc for 1 when you walk in you're hit in the face with some perfume/candle smell and for some of us sensitive to scents it's an instant migraine so that was unfortunate... 2nd reason is the employees... I understand the company wants good customer service but the employees at every location I've been to have been too happy, I never thought I'd complain about someone being too happy but it feels forced and robotic how happy and joyful they are 😕 maybe cut it back a bit, a simple smile and checking if the customer needs help is fine but they go over the...

We have only been to this location a few times, but we all absolutely love it. Lots of things to check out, pretty good deals on everything, and a very relaxing environment.

I'm not sure why some reviewers complain about the staff being "too happy", as I see this as a great thing, and perhaps they are very happy to have a job and help people.
