Oriental Garden Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in DeLand

Not a good visual when you walk in with chairs upside down on tables from pre-COVID days I guess and the floor was filthy. The counter was blocked with a small window to pass my credit card through and a another on the other side they pass the food through. Now for the food. Awful is the only word that comes to mind. Was not even close to being hot, the egg rolls were obviously baked, a little burned from being reheated in the oven and were soggy. My guess is they had been reheated multiple times. Absolutely the worst General Tso's chicken I have ever had. Little tiny overcooked rocks in sweet sauce that tasted burned. Moo-Shu with no flavor at all. I have never see Moo-Shu that was not in a brown sauce. The 2 other main dishes were the same, no flavor. We also had Lo-Mein, fried rice and the spare rib appetizer that was very good, the only thing we ordered that I would consider even close to good Chinese food. I cannot recommend, with all the good reviews we thought for sure we were going to get some good food but instead I threw $92 down the drain. We did not even save...

I have ordered pick up from them 2 times. Both times my order (seseame chicken) was ready to go upon my arrival (within 10 min.) It was fabulous. I cannot speak for any other food from them, but the seseame chicken and rice was amazing both times. I did not give them 5 starts because -I asked Both times that they make my chicken spicy. (They did Not charge more for this and my request for extra spice was written on my receip, so I am willing to believe this restaurant just does not Do 'spicy' ....) but my chicken was no where Near spicy. I think they need help with reopening, they are still doing curbside. I ask them why and they said no body is wearing mask, but I had a mask on. They can say to come in to order you must wear have mask on and social distance than wait in your car out side, My wife and I remember there parents when thay opened up. The food and soup was awesome, the gravy needs alittle help, maybe C,P,B, stock with flour instead of corn starch, alittle more flavor, this was the first time this year of covid 19 we have visited, I wish them well but would have to talk with the management first before another visit.
