Judge Morris Estate - White Clay Creek State Park — Attraction in Delaware

I live near this location. I stop by once in awhile for a quick walk with my puppy. I did see that they have paid parking signs but I assumed it's for some events or something else? There's no reason to park there very long for what I see. It's a historic place with some info regarding the previous owner. The building is visually not kept up or even repaired. Tarp hanging off the roof. Almost like an abandoned home. I received a warning ticket for not paying to park for my 10 minute walk. I don't know what the cost is but can't imagine paying anything to go there ever. Maybe there's something really amazing I don't know about or haven't seen that it's worth paying to park there? Great MTB trail system. Maybe has like 25mi of trail. Zero big hills that I could find, so go elsewhere for climbs and descents.

Mostly easy and intermediate trails, plus a well marked expert section which is optional that has lots of nice trail toys for the highly skilled who are bringing full face helmets.

It costs 8 dollars cash to park a vehicle in this park, so make sure to bring the exact cash.

Beautiful, hidden gem in Newark. For years, I've passed and admired the estate and had no idea how to enter or that it was part of White Clay Creek. We recently had a photoshoot here, and it's such a lovely area that is pretty private for a “public” park. We did have an issue with parking where a State Trooper wrote us a warning citation.
