The Great Basin Museum is not really a place that I would travel for, but it is worth stopping by if you are in the area. The museum is full of Old West type memorabilia as well as Native American artifacts. There are no official guided tours, but the lady at the front counter was willing to answer some questions. As far as museums go, it probably lacks the funding for significant improvements to displays and interpretive exhibits. The way things are arranged is kind of like a sorted horde of old items with basic descriptions. It seemed to have something for everyone, including those who like art, music, fossils from Lake Bonneville, rocks, antique automobiles, pianos, Mormon pioneer history, Spanish colonization history, Native American history, steam driven industrial equipment, old time soda fountains, dental equipment, architecture, farm equipment, and photography. I'm sure I missed more than a few items.

It does remind me that at 60 I must be pretty old. There's cameras newer than what I had as a kid. The same Royal typewriter I used in high school.
