First & last visit. And here’s why… You have 1 kid running a ride that not only needed him at the door letting people in then having to walk the entire ride making sure everyone is buckled in and then to run the ride. Let everyone off, rinse and repeat. Then he had to stand there with the fast pass people for a good five minutes talking about god knows what and letting on at least 8 people. Standing in line for 45 minutes for a 30-45 second ride because of only one worker on the ride is really not acceptable to people who have paid to be there and ride rides. We paid for the unlimited free refills drink cup. Besides most the ice machines being broken, I scan the cup to refill and all of a sudden I have a young girl being urged by her father to get up right next to me and as soon as I start filling she has her cup almost on top of mine, and this wasn’t a paid refill cup it was a clear Dixie cup and before I have I even finished filling my cup she is shoving me out and stealing the last 10 or so seconds of my fill up. I paid for that not the little girl nor did the father who urged her to do what she did and kept telling her to get closer to me. That is not acceptable behavior to teach your young child. And if they didn’t pay for it they shouldn’t be pushing out paid customers to steal their pop. This is on you Hershey. Prevent theft at your park. I let your manager know at one of the walking taco places next to the fill station where it happened but I’m sure it wasn’t a top priority. You would think if Hershey was losing 23 dollars a cup so people could just steal it from others or one person in the group filling for all(saw that too multiple times) Hershey would make it a top priority to stop it. I get the fast pass program and if people can pay for it then let them. But I paid to be there too. And after standing in line for over an hour at a rollercoaster and to be next in line to be shoved out for 6 riders blocking out 3 rows of seats for people like me who have stood in line for an hour in the heat and sun is not only absurd but down right nasty to people who might not have that money because we pay actual bills by ourselves. And also causing a woman to not be able to ride with her 2 young kids making them stand there for 2 trains until she got back to them. And she was not happy. Last this is a family theme park started by a man who wanted something fun for his employees and their families to do. Milton Hershey was against alcohol and did not allow alcohol in Hershey the town he created for his workers and even hired PIs to find people who were drinking in town. And here you are serving alcohol at his park. That’s shameful. The man who created that place and you’re serving something he was adamant against. Add in, that if parents have to drink to have fun with their kids there’s a problem with that. They’re creating another generation that thinks they can only have fun if they are drinking. Alcohol does not need and should not be served where there are children present. You want to drink in front of your kid do it at home and not a family oriented theme park. Especially since the original creator was so against it. What a way to ruin what he stood for. I live less than half an hour from a six flags in New York and never have I seen such blatant theft, never had to stand in line longer than half hour and fast pass isn’t abused nor does it interrupt other riders and there is a limit to how many in the party can steal seats from other paying customers and how many times it can be used. I’m coming back to this area next year but Hershey park will not be on my list to visit again. I do not recommend this park. Unless you want to spend the money to stand In lines and maybe ride 5 rides all together, the unlimited free refill drink cups your purchasing for other people too and not enough workers to deal with the fast passes and to run rides safely. But the zoo was really neat and it’s the only reason I am giving Hershey...
Read moreI am writing to formally express my deep disappointment and frustration following my family’s visit to Hersheypark yesterday, which, regrettably, ended on a distressing note despite starting off well.
This visit marked only our second time at the park. Based on our previous experience, I anticipated that my six-year-old daughter—who is autistic—would require accommodations to make the visit enjoyable and accessible for her. In anticipation of this, I proactively purchased a Fast Track pass at a cost of nearly $130. Upon returning to a ride, however, I was informed that this was not the correct pass and, in fact, my daughter qualified for a complimentary Fast Track pass due to her disability. While the financial misunderstanding was frustrating, the situation that followed was far more troubling.
When we attempted to use the pass at the Cocoa Cruiser ride, the conductor on duty at the time—identified as Peyton—treated us with undue scrutiny and caused an unnecessarily distressing delay. He questioned the legitimacy of the pass and challenged the size range listed for my daughter. Rather than accepting the pass as valid, he insisted on calling for verification while we stood by, even as another set of riders boarded in our place. He assured us we would be next, but offered no explanation to my daughter—who, due to her autism, found the disruption extremely confusing and upsetting.
As we continued to wait, my daughter became visibly agitated, nearing a meltdown. Despite Peyton’s earlier insistence that we would be next, we were nearly skipped a second time until another ride conductor asked for a party of two from the general line. At that point, I spoke up and was finally allowed to board. This chaotic and inconsistent process, along with the dismissive and insensitive conduct of the employee, made an already challenging situation significantly worse.
I must emphasize how harmful and unacceptable this experience was—not only for me as a parent but especially for my young daughter, whose condition requires understanding and accommodation, not interrogation. Accessibility passes should be respected without arbitrary questioning by individual ride operators. It is not appropriate for frontline staff to “authenticate” disability accommodations on the spot, as it opens the door for inconsistency, bias, and discrimination.
To make matters worse, our visit ended amid alarming scenes of gang-related and police activity near the premises, which further heightened our discomfort and concern for our family’s safety.
At this time, I am genuinely uncertain if we will ever return to Hersheypark. The conduct displayed by Peyton at Cocoa Cruiser was unacceptable and, I hope, not reflective of Hershey Entertainment & Resorts’ values or training standards. I respectfully urge your team to investigate this incident, review employee training on accessibility protocols, and ensure that families with children who have special needs are treated with the dignity, efficiency, and care they deserve.
I look forward to your response and to understanding how this matter will...
Read moreI’m not here to be mean or rude, but if you can find any other place to work it would be preferable. Firstly I was in retail, which sucked. They had me working kid you not 10 hour shifts for 5 days in a row I was so overwhelmed. It also made me upset how a lot of the supervisor and manager positions are filled with college kids, who go back to college and get yelled at by their professors and then they come to the park and take it out on people who are just trying to earn money. They honestly believe that they are Milton Hershey himself with how they treat people. I’m not going to name names, but while working there during one of my 10 hour shifts, the supervisor forgot to send me on a break the entire time! And when I asked her about it she just said that they would put a random time down and not to say anything. I also got yelled at because one day someone I knew came and bought something and they said I can’t socialize with people, when it’s part of the job? This is why I ended up quitting, because after this day a woman named Bree who was just a simple manager told me I was fired and they wouldn’t welcome me on the premises anymore? Like that’s not up to them to decide but I think supervisors and managers need to be evaluated once in a while, because some of these young kids especially but also older are unbelievably rude, tacky, ignorant, hateful, disrespectful, and disgustingly vicious. I also watched one be rude to a kid with autism and Down syndrome, saying that they can’t use their disability as an excuse for why they aren’t doing their tasks fast enough, which hello? That’s very ableist and harmful, but they never got in trouble. While working there I was tasked with reorganizing the entire stock room of a store, which was a mess and took multiple shifts and gave me nightmares. Never got rewarded, but meanwhile this girl I worked with got a 5 dollar gift card for putting up an easy shelf that you stick to the wall and put up 2 hats and some shirts on it. It’s crazy! Please do not work here, and if you do I’d definitely wait until school starts because it’s a lot more tame and all of the less mature people are gone. It’s also insanely rude how these college and young kids who are in the superior roles pick favorites and will be blatantly disrespectful to people who are different from them or don’t fit into their believes. I’ve also heard one of my supervisors say racial slurs and homophobic slurs, and when I reported them to HR they said not to worry about it and I need to mind my own business? speaking of which, HR in themselves are so unhelpful and are always loosing paperwork, and it’s quite literally like speaking to the wall. So overall 0/10 it had to be said and I will say it again DO NOT WORK HERE IF YOU WANT...
