Be prepared for 120 min+ waits on an 'average' day during the week.
HAVE A FULL BATTERY CHARGED ON YOUR PHONE, or someone to talk to, you'll be able to get through at least two episodes of your favorite show while waiting. Loki is a good watch, just saying. 😘
Today, (Wednesday 7/21), it's a balmy 81 degrees, could not imagine how intense it would be if waiting with hotter temps... Yes, there are industrial fans, but not enough to stay completely cool and they're stationed periodically throughout the maze aka line corral.
If you are on COVID alert you'd probably not be visiting a theme park, so this applies to the rest of us...
NO SOCIAL DISTANCING in lines, no where to go, no where to hide, no sanitization stations found in lines, so bring your own and two pool noodles so you strap one infront and one the back of you for your own S.D., aka 360 degrees of separation, aka personal space, aka private bubble.
Fast Pass: Price during the week is $110 for all day unlimited rides on top of the admission costs!!!
The cheaper version only allows one free fast pass per ride per day ($85). This version gives you a business card type card, the all day pass for $110 is a wrist band.
Need dramame for motion sickness? Bring your own! None found at the park. And if they have it...good luck finding it, may need Liam to seek and find for you.
Add ONS and Bookbags/Purses: All day food pass for one is $35+, all day drink pass $17, and nothing bigger than a small purse allowed in the ride lines, you'll have to put in locker and lockers are NOT free.
How small? Think a tween mini book bag or fanny pack, no Jansport, or body cross overs.
Line Strategy: About 1/3 of the folks in line generally can't make it and end up walking out, in less than 40 minutes about 50-60 people left, so if you're a trooper, once you start though it, chances are others won't, and you'll get to the ride faster than the posted time shown at the gate...
Read moreI had extremely high expectations when heading to Hersheypark for this ride. With the hype, I decided to wait 'till the last three hours of my time at Hersheypark before riding it, allowing the coaster to warm up. This is a extremely well made B&M Hyper. It's glossy smooth and gives out enough airtime. I was able to get myself some wiggle room with the clam shell restraints and literally got out of my seat during the camel backs hills. The hammerhead turn was a nice and forceful element and does it's job really well. After this turn around, there's another camel back but with trim breaks. Boy those kicked in on my rides. It didn't totally demolished the airtime, but it did make the ejector become more of a floater in the back rows (aka flojector). The speed hill right after was a nice and fun pop right into the upwards helix. Some people said they greyed out, but I personally didn't (probably because I've been on I-305 wayyyy too many times). After the helix, there was a nice and snappy left bank giving a nice near-miss element to one of the lift hill supports. Right after that element, we were thrown right into another airtime hill then into the helix around the Kisses fountain. And boy did that mist feel good. Being able to pose behind other people's photos was a blast. Then the ride experience came to an end when we headed into a break run. BUT WAIT! There's an unexpected dip into the station portion of the break runs. That concludes the awesome ride experience. I HIGHLY recommend this ride to ANYONE who wants a...
Read moreThis is the first B&M Hyper I've ridden - and it did not disappoint.
Queue Line/Station: The station looks like a small candy house. It's charming. I like how the entire queue line is indoors. This is a welcome change from the heat. I also like how when you walk through the staircases, there are shining LED bright lights glowing down on you. It's pretty cool!
I will say that the outdoors are themed better than the inside. They play country music and it just walls painted in bright colors. I wish the theming inside played custom cooky music (similar to Laff Trakk) and they themed the inside like a smaller candy factory or candy shop.
Ride Experience: (My experience is based on the second to last row)
The ride itself is very enjoyable. Like Skyrush, this is an airtime based ride but it's a more spread out layout, making it less intense than Skyrush.
The drop has a kick of floater airtime. I felt like I was free falling. The rest of the ride is similar in feeling. My two favorite parts, a part from the drop, was the out-banked twist drop and the turnaround the Kisses fountain. I also enjoyed the dip after the brake run. All-in-all this was a fantastic addition to...
