E & L Supermercado — Attraction in Detroit

Great place best meat market in the the city of Detroit and so much more it has everything a supermarket would have! Always busy but it's a cool kind of busy, the staff is very courteous and the meat is always top of the line, they try to keep the prices down but in 2022 it's very hard, they always have something on sale, their deli is great with lunch meats and many salads, homemade coleslaw, and their pasta salad are totally awesome, and made fresh daily, and you can buy cheese or lunch meat 🍖🥓 buy bulk ( you know before it's sliced and of course it's cheaper that way ) and normally they have different daily specials on cut lunch meats, lots of different kinds of breads from bakery to split top, the only problem with the the place is the parking there is plenty of it but because they are always busy it gets tight at times, but still it deserves 5 stars ! One thing I did notice today on June 17, 2022 that meat prices from hamburger to lunch meats to all the different types of cheeses from the blocks of cheese to the slices and all the shredded cheeses our roughly 20 to 25 percent cheaper than May 1 2022 and they weren't on sale 🙂 One more thing everything is cheaper if you get a number and buy it at the deli at E&L. I love this place so much, I hate to leave this review, but because of what this place means to me and my family. It still gets stars and praise. I never bought anything to be given to the meat cutters in the back don’t know if the position is called butcher any more, but I asked if they could cut up the ny strip for me into 1” portions. The young lady helping me didn’t look like she knew if they could or not but was stuck like a deer in head lights. She goes asks the man in the back to cut, my steaks weren’t tenderized after she asked and I told her I would like that. No fat was cut or trimmed off. And they were definitely not cut how I asked because I’m going to eat them any ways but why offer things if when your asked to do said things you do what you want and give attitude. I was completely calm and nice. Maybe don’t let them use the water hose and start cleaning while you still have people that may need services you all offer. I do recommend this place to everyone. I love this place I will continue to shop her til I die...

Awesome meat market and supermarket, very clean, nice employees, fresh meat always, they try to keep the prices down but with gas fluctuating between 4 and 5 bucks a gallon, all food goes up and I'm reviewing this as of April 2022 so yeah meat, milk, even cheese has gone way up, E and L is open 7 days a week 8 am till 7 pm, their deli is awesome from marinated meats to lunch meats, cheese, and to me the best selection of bread in Southwest Detroit and great service at the deli, great check out service, but only one thing they are always busy 🤷 parking lot is sufficient but always packed, and I think with out a doubt a great store to shop at, and feel safe, great security camera wise, and because of the volume of business it's really safe, and the vibe of the store is awesome 💯 you can feel it. Bottom line is this E & L Supermarket is by far the best meat market / super market...
