I've been a loyal customer of the Gratiot and 7 mile location since their doors opened. Apparently that doesn't mean anything. On two separate occasions the last being November 7, 2016 I received the most condescending customer service. They have aluminium pans on sale for 5 for $1.00 for large and 2 for $1.00 for small. The stock manager on two separate occasions placed smaller, but deep dish pans in the area of the 2 for $1.00 pans and the large pans were where they were supposed to be. At the check out counter I was charged for the price of large pans when I had chose small. Well they apparently made a mistake because although the pans were small they were deep in depth. Although it was a mistake they were supposed to honor the sale and they did not. Instead I was told that if I didn't like it there were plenty of stores to shop from. Upon going back to the spot where I initially picked up the pans I found the stock manager finally placing the small pans in the spots where large pans were being sold. When I decided to obtain a refund on the other items the customer service manager decided ask me why I was looking at her and that It wasnt her fault that I didn't pick up the right items and she didn't care if I was getting a refund. The problem was not the price of the pans but the principle of them making a mistake, not honoring it and then trying to insult a loyal customer's intelligence. Needless to say I will not be shopping at this location for a while.

Read moreOn the afternoon of June 30th I went in for a few groceries. I have a bridge card that is damaged and I was waiting for my new card to arrive. I was there the previous week with my damaged bridge card and a cashier had no issue ringing up my items. On Sunday JUNE 30th I was explaining to the cashier that my card was damaged and that I had my card number. I politely asked her if she could just put my card numbers in for me and she REFUSED when a previous cashier the week before did it for me. I get it! People steal out of this grocery store a lot but me and my cousin were both racially profiled in this situation. After the situation blew up over the cashier refusing to just punch my card numbers in the owner or the MANAGER ACCUSED my cousin of stealing when she paid cash for her transaction. Having an establishment in a predominantly black neighborhood and racially profiling your customers is INSANE! The food is always expired, they don’t check for expiration dates, the meat is OLD and smelly so maybe it was a blessing in disguise. But I do know for a fact… I’ll will be pursuing legal action against this grocery store and I’ll never RETURN or patronize this establishment again IN LIFE
