A 29-acre park on Detroit's southwest riverfront, at the foot of West Grand Boulevard and west of the Ambassador Bridge In 2015 the City created a new master plan for the park and began an extensive renovation project of the entire park. The first phase of construction was on the Northeast section of the park on West Jefferson, completed in 2018. This area is about six acres, three of which were added to the park, this includes a new softball diamond, soccer field, picnic shelter, playground, basketball court and toilet facility. The following year the park was expanded again by an additional three acres on to former city-owned dog pound facility and vacant land, turning the site into parkland with the largest dog park in the city and a 20,000-squarefoot skate park. In 2020 the southeast section of the park was completed, with a renovated picnic area, boat launch, parking, horseshoe and table tennis game area as well as new riverwalk. In addition to all these renovations extensive environmental remediation has taken place, to ensure that the park is safe for all future users.

We stopped here after visiting the zoo. Farther down they are expanding the river walk which is still under construction. This area is done. Beautiful walk along the river and a great spot to view the Ambassador Bridge along with the barges coming through. There are public restrooms, which were not bad at all. There are bench swings along the river walk, a kids splash pad spot, an outdoor gym, dog park and a pavilion. Lots of beautiful planters full of flowers. The parking lot is right next to it. The area farther down that is still under construction will be a great addition to the downtown area. While downtown, we also walked by the stadiums and had dinner. It was just a short drive from downtown to the riverside park.

I came here to play soccer with some people on July 4th, from all walks of life in all nationalities. The park has plenty of parking, and the Detroit police were constantly driving around, made me feel really really safe! The backdrop of the ambassador bridge was really cool to play soccer to, and a splash pad was really nice. The outdoor gym was also really cool, as well as the play scape. Very unique! I will definitely come here again.

Really nice park on the banks of the Detroit river. Views of the Ambassador Bridge and the Gordie Howe Bridge as well as Canada. Area for kids to play on the playground is nice. Beautiful green grass and all new sidewalks and paths. The area is really improving. I am excited to see what the area looks like after the Riverwalk is completed.

Park owners are scammers. They take rental fees and then call 911 every weekend to have the police shut down family reunions, cookouts, etc. They claim the park is "over capacity" but they are the ones renting it out. The police advised everyone to start suing them because this is a weekly occurrence.

Great park with public restrooms. You won't find better views of downtown Detroit and the Ambassador Bridge. Park has a lot to offer with separate sections for playground, skate park and Riverwalk. Plenty of FREE public parking spread throughout the park. The large swings are a nice attraction.
