I love walking down at Assumption park in the day time. Unfortunately it doesnt feel the safest at night as there is only lighting on the restroom buildings along to the path. It's a great view of Detroit the Ambassador bridge and as far east as you can see. This is a popular place for people to walk, skate, bike and many people fish especially in the spring and summer. There are oversized sculptures along the path. There is also excessive amounts of geese droppings so dont wear new sneakers...
Read moreThe park is a great place to visit and wind-down...just be careful WHEN you decide to visit. Too often it is now seemingly overran by hordes of kids where the parents are nowhere to be seen! Apparently this public space is now "the village's" backyard!!!
Not sure how you can excuse this behaviour as "cultural differences" though, as good manners, politeness and respect for others never go our of style regardless what you originally...

(the trail is also a biking trail so it has two designated directions) There is also tonnes of parking and plenty of benches. I have also found a water bottle refill fountain with a dog fountain near the ambassador bridge end and public washrooms. The washrooms definatly need more maintenance but will...
