It makes me very sad to have to write this negative review of the Encore Theater. In the last four years, we have had so many happy times as a family watching the fantastic plays they put on there. My experience in the last two days, working with the theater management has upset me so much that I feel I have to share it. This is the third year we have purchased season passes for our family from the Encore Theater. This is also the third year that there has been some problem purchasing them. This year the problem resulted in us being turned away from the theater performance we expected to have reserved seats for, and also being informed that we did not have seats for any of the performances we had reserved. I wrote an email to the Encore Theater box office, describing my experience and asking for a refund. As a result, I received a call from the general manager of the Encore Theater. The general manager seemed keen to find someone to blame and not especially sorry that I had had this experience. She mentioned blaming her staff. In four years of visiting the theater, I have never had anything but terrific service from any staff member (excluding perhaps the general manager). At one point in our conversation, she seemed to be blaming me for the situation, suggesting that I made a mistake when I was purchasing the passes. I’m not sure what the general manager hoped to achieve by calling me but, if it was to try to convince me not to ask for a refund, accusing me of creating the problem was probably not the best tactic. In the end she did give me a refund for my season passes. I am sorry the whole...

On a whim, we grabbed tickets for the night’s performance. We were a bit concerned because the remaining seats were tall stools. They were totally fine - the seats had padded backs and were comfortable. They allowed a clear line of sight above the traditional theatre seats in the row in front of us.
We were in the back center of the mezzanine and could see everything clearly. There didn’t seem to be a bad seat in the house.
We arrived just as the show was about to start and we still found street parking.
I would definitely come to see...
Read moreI went and saw Into the Wild with a group of friends and we had a blast, although the theater itself wasn't what I expected. It's a dinky and cozy theater with very limited seating and the stage is only raised about six inches and if you sit in the front row you could probably reach out and touch the actors. It's definitely a theater for smaller productions. But we loved it! It was super cute and there's lots of cute shops in the area to visit. The actors were all super talented and I highly recommend seeing a show here. You won't be...
