Eiler Candy Shop — Attraction in Dover

It has been years since I’ve purchased anything here. But given the most recent reviews listed on their facebook page, I thought I’d stop in and see what all the fuss was about.

Clearly, the agenda (or apparent lack of oxygen) by a few has impaired their ability to leave an honest review - based on my experience:

Upon entering this small establishment, I noticed a (clean) and organized area for customers to order.

Upon entry, a sweet - older than I - lady politely asked “what can I do for you?”. (Perhaps she is the owner, I am not sure.)

As I assumed Eiler’s has been negatively affected by the uncertainty of the last couple months, (much like every small business has been affected by government interference), I ordered more chocolate than what I would normally consider.

The chocolate was enjoyed by my kids, and my wife. Their review is 5 stars, based on Taste.

My review is 5 stars based on my experience.

Despite the negative reviews posted here, I would recommend any reasonable person stop in, buy some of their great chocolate, and see this sweet lady.

Based on my experience today. I can only assume the recent barrage of negative reviews were published by many who have not recently, or perhaps have never stepped foot inside the door.

Additionally, all of the recent negative reviews appear to be in response to something posted on the door - unrelated to the business’ service, or product. Unless of course an agenda, or lack of oxygen would impair one’s ability to reason.

Because I can’t imagine someone would purposefully leave such a bad review for such...

They don’t take orders around Easter and Christmas!? Good candy but not worth the hassle.

Last year I made the switch to Heggy’s and have no regrets. Dealing with the rude women at the counter is not worth the aggravation. Now that they have made it known that they won’t look out for their customer’s health by requiring masks I will never be back. If they don’t require masks during a pandemic I can only imagine the other public health safety measures they overlook. I mean if washing your hands causes dry skin why ever...

Lady who served us was super friendly and patient! This was our first time coming in and they only take cash/ checks and we didn't have enough cash for our candy, but I waited in the shop as my partner went and got money. The cashier and I talked as we waited for him to get the cash and she was super kind! The shop is cute and the candy is delicious! Stuff is a little pricey, but they're super lenient with how much candy you get and the chocolates...
