I have been to the driving range several times this year (spent over 400.00 myself on my range card!
A RUDE LOUD group of 3, a father arrived today along with 2 boys about age 7 and 10. They showed up in the covered range area and began to entertain themselves! They were ridiculously loud for al of us other players!
After asking them to show some etiquette, they were quiet for two shots! Then they began to giggle at their shots and continued more conversation! They including the father displayed No respect at all and did not care who else was at the range working on their game! These boys did not quiet down and kept talking and began snorting animal sounds! Oh and laugh!!!! You would think a parent would consider others and try to get them to settle down! It was a waste of my money today!
I have seen a lot of other parents at the range with kids way younger than these boys and they at least attempted to teach etiquette and show respect for others at this range! I believe learning this game at an early age is great for golf, but others should not show up here again!
Something should be done with the current policy to prevent others like myself from having to spend 20 minutes writing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday, we organized two groups to play this course for a friend's birthday and had tee times back to back. All the players in both of the groups are beginner players and I have a physical disability that limits my ability to play. After the first group went, the ranger told the second group that they "needed to play best ball because you all are horrible." After this, on the fifth hole, the first group was followed by the ranger who started to scream "Have you even played golf before?", further insulting the players, while continuing to follow and menace that group until the end of the 8th hole. Both groups finished the course in 2 hours and 10 minutes.
While I'm sure that there were concerns about slow play, there was also not another group at the 9th hole tee after we had finished for over half an hour. This entire experience has left a bad taste in our mouths and we will not be...

We played here for the first time in the first week of November on a 55-degree Saturday. The location has an interesting history, being the site of the first 9-hole course in the Midwest, and the first 18-hole course in the US. The course is different now, a 9-hole par 36. The current course itself is among the most beautiful and well-kept public courses I've seen in the Chicago area. It 9-holes feature lots of elevation change wrapped around a wide variety of native plant and grass species.
They also have a nice albeit small driving range with 10-ish outdoor bays + 5/6 enclosed bays, next to a large putting green.
All told the round was $27 + $6 for 30 range balls. We really enjoyed our round here and look forward to coming back...
